A father-of-two has sparked fierce debate after telling his daughter that she was a 'disappointment' after having a child aged 18.
The unnamed man, believed to be based in the US, took to Reddit's popular Am I The A**hole (AITA) subreddit to reveal the details of the family feud.
He said that he had urged his teenage daughter to get an abortion after finding out she was pregnant - but was left 'very upset' when she refused.
And other social media users were left bitterly divided at the revelation as they rushed to share their own thoughts on the matter.
In the post, which was titled 'AITA for telling my daughter she's a disappointment?', the man set the scene by revealing he has two daughters - aged 23 and 20 - who are 'both so beautiful and smart.'
He said that he had 'always wanted them to be strong and independent women who could stand on their own feet and I tried to raise them that way.'
But the dad-of-two revealed: 'My older daughter quit both sports and school when she got pregnant at the age of 18.
'When she first told us that she was pregnant, I was very upset and advised her to have an abortion because having a child at such a young age would disrupt her life.
'She did not want to have an abortion and my wife supported her decision.
'To be honest, I was very insistent on her having an abortion at that time, but when I saw that she remained determined, I dropped the issue and supported her fully, even though I didn't want to.'

Am I to understand that we’re to forever judge this man over the immediate response he gave on hearing his teenage daughter was pregnant? Shouldn’t we at least cut people some slack to take some time to process such big news and judge them by how they respond on a long term basis?
But then the baby was born and they realized it was a flesh and blood human being and that they were selfish NPCs that want to use abortion and birth control because that’s what they were programed to do.
Well, you raised one that is strong and independent enough to tell you "No" when you pressured her to kill her child.
That is about as good as it gets.
Hopefully she married the dad or gave the child to a couple who wants to raise it.

father’s always support their children... disappointments and all... having a grandchild and becoming a grandfather is an important job... embrace it. her life is going to be extremely difficult.
Actually, helping others see where we went wrong and how we learned from that is something God expects from everyone.

Some men are the most fervent advocates of abortion. Many women have related how they were brutally coerced by their consorts to have an abortion. It was no “free choice”.
Oh no, we must badger people and belittle and tell them they are going to hell because that has worked so well for the Republican Party.
And on the long term basis he continued to tell his now married daughter that he is disappointed in her because she did not turn her child into mulch.
My wife and I have a special relationship with our grandchild born out of wedlock. We helped raise him in the earliest years as our daughter became independent. Wonderful time in our lives.

and now I suppose he is expected to support his whore daughter and her offspring? by law? I would feel the same way he did, except I would urge her to give the baby up for adoption, there are lots of people who would love to adopt.

I am wondering more about eye for an eye... perhaps those who support, conspire and coerce to kill innocents in the womb, should receive in kind.
the 18 year old may not know any better, but that filthy child hating old baby killer calling himself her father... I am thinking he knows EXACTLY what he is advocating for, and has done so himself for his unwanted daughters now on referred to the family’s non-living siblings...
Apparently, unlike daddy dearest, he actually is a man. Which is probably what attracted her to him in the first place.
