What retail value does a dead gator really have these days?
Shoes, purses, coats probably all use artificial hides, except for the occasional tailor of the very wealthy.
I tend to doubt something that looks like a gator would taste anything like a chicken. The Chinese can’t use them as Lab Rats for their next homemade pandemic.
Is there any place in the 21st Century for these Old World critters who refuse to leave?

I tried gator once. Too chewy for my liking

Gator tail is a sought after meat.
The teeth have tourist value as key chains and necklaces..
And yes, shoes,handbags, luggage and briefcases

The hunt itself could be a profit making venture

It can be chewy if not prepared properly, but the taste is somewhere between chicken and firm-fleshed fish. Deep fried gator bites are on some restaurant menus where I live, served with various sauces.
