The Beatles have a great body of work but I never understood the attraction and popularity of ‘Hey Jude’. I thought it sucked ...

But then I’m not nor have I ever been a liberal. Having both parents who actually fought in WW-II may have something to do with that. By ‘actually fought’ I mean just that. Dad was a Jug pilot (4 kills) and Mom was a signal corp motorcycle/sidecar driver in the S Pacific theatre. Both were acquainted with death first-hand. I am told it is sobering.

there is always to much judgment of people we never met. For the most part we have any idea who they actually are. Today at 57 years I try not to let the media and opinion of the mob control me in this area. The most important thing for me is meeting a person and taking measure of them by My own interaction. Yoko is one of those people that I look at all that’s said about them and realize it’s an evaluation of what they did and said 30 or 40 years ago and that none of us are the same person we were so long ago. I and most in here have no idea what type of person she is.

It was great when it was released. Took the world by storm.

It has suffered from overplay, like so many good songs that people just hate it from familiarity.

That said, at a live McCartney concert it is one of the highlights in person.

I guess I’m too old. I’m glad I never was interested in the trials and tribulation of these people.

That was a hilarious movie. A decent comedy will normally elicit an involuntary snort or chuckle from me, but Yesterday is the last movie I saw that actually had me quite literally laughing out loud.

When it came out, I wanted to see it but couldn’t find anyone who wanted to see it with me, so I went by myself and LOL in many parts. (The only other movie I went alone to see was Master and Commander).

It had a unique premise and was funny in many parts, imagining a world where the Beatles never existed except for this one random failed musician who because of some freak worldwide power outage that somehow changes the timeline, becomes famous for performing Beatles songs, pretending that he wrote them.

The scene where he is looking up bands on the internet was particularly funny, that and when he asks for a Coke on the airplane forgetting that in this reality there is no Coca-Cola, only Pepsi and the flight attendant thinks he's asking for cocaine.

But overall, it was sweet and nostalgic.

See post #10, then think about shooting up heroin and its various effects.
