You can register now for the virtual workshop titled "Appreciating Differences: Implicit Biases, Perceptions, and Micro-Aggressions", on Friday, September 22, from 9:00am-12:00pm Eastern. Zoom information will automatically be sent to enrolled attendees through Workday.
Appreciating Differences: Implicit Biases, Perceptions, and Micro-Aggressions Effective community college leaders seek to understand and validate the experiences and feelings of other people and create a culture of inclusion and belonging. This workshop will prompt you to broaden your perspective by engaging in dialogue with others. You will uncover and reflect upon your implicit biases, misperceptions, and the diversity of people within your inner circle. You’ll also develop an awareness of how micro-aggressions manifest and how to counteract them. In this workshop you will create an action plan to improve inclusion internally, interpersonally, and institutionally.
Literally nothing more than a course in acceptable “right think.”
Why it is that we have to be always more accepting?
Should the left also give something on the acceptance field?
What gets me is this crap is made up for the white people who are told they all have biases and micro-aggressions against POC. They never say that POC have any biases or micro-aggressions against the white people. It’s always the white people’s fault. According to the left, white people are the only group that can be racists. That in itself is a bias and discrimination against the white people. I have met a lot of black folk that do not like white people and will let you know it. But that isn’t racist....
Round file that crap.
As I understand it, the problem with implicit bias is that those who test “positive” for it, subsequent study has shown, aren’t in any way associated with more biased behavior.
“an awareness of how micro-aggressions manifest and how to counteract them”
So, what happens when a student claims that any grade less than a grade of ‘B’ or lower, is a micro-aggression and wants YOU to “counteract” it?
“Effective community college leaders seek to understand and validate the experiences and feelings of other people and create a culture of inclusion and belonging.”
What BS. Educational institutions have gotten way off their MISSION...time to bring them back. Also, I just read the Ohio state legislature (I think) is working on legislation to demand schools get back to education MISSION.
And....the Chinese must be laughing.
I was at a liberal conference recently .
The thing they do now at the start is what’s called a “land acknowledgement “
That basically means they state which Indian tribes land you are trespassing in where you are sitting.
I’m guess that’s a standard lib thing now.
understand and validate the experiences and feelings of other people , as long as they don’t disagree with us or feel differently than us,
A master course in hypocrisy and duplicity !!!
and create a culture of inclusion and belonging except for those that
disagree with us or feel differently than us,
.
