icclearly: "Why do you have such hatred in your heart for Putin?"

Because he's a serial mass murderer! How could anyone at any time under any circumstances love such an SOB?

icclearly: "Perhaps you've been reading too much NYT, WAPO, CNN, CBS, MSNBC, etc.
Maybe you're Zelensky. That's it.
You're the queer clown."

I see, so as usual with pro-Russian propagandists, your argument consists of name-calling rather than fact-checking.

icclearly: "As for your "one election away" comment, that's worked out real well for us.
Right?
The last leader that moved us forward was Regan followed by Bush, Clinton, Bush (again), Obama, Trump, and the old fool Biden. Your intelligence (or lack of) is showing 'cause we've had nothing but crooks, fools, and clowns since Reagan (not to mention who preceded Reagan).
The facts don't come close to supporting your comment -- in fact, they conclude just the opposite!"

Why would you lump Donald Trump in with the others, are you also anti-Trump?
I think that's a rather significant, and maybe betrays something of your own inner blindness & biases.

icclearly: "As for long-serving leaders, the last 20 years seem to support that it may not be a disaster for those who are governed in that manner.
Take Russia and China -- both with long-term leaders, they have certainly done quite well with their long-term leaders in charge. I'm not advocating we change, but only identifying the "elephant in the room" and that we clearly don't have a monopoly on success."

You are obviously confused and disoriented to the point of befuddled -- do you even understand the concept of what's wrong with dictatorship?
Do you know why we don't have a dictatorship here?
Did you ever contemplate the fundamental flaws in rule by dictators?

One of the many fundamental flaws in dictatorships is that over time, dictators bend their countries to become mere reflections of their own brains, dictators alter the reality of their own countries to become only what's inside their own brains, even when their brains are full of mush and ridiculous fantasies.
And that is what's happened in both Russia and China, both have lost touch with the realities of who they are and what their countries are, both are living in fantasies of their own imaginations, without any serious opposition to bring them back to reality.

One result is that both countries are in serious economic, diplomatic and military trouble, especially Russia, but also the CCP, much as they try to hide it.

icclearly: "Now where were you when we murdered hundreds of thousands in Vietnam or millions in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Do those not matter to you?"

Do you understand the difference between murder and self-defense? Self defense is legally justified and commendable, murder is not.

What Vlad the Invader is doing in Ukraine (and elsewhere) is pure murder.
What Americans and our allies have done around the world since 1945 to maintain peace against murderous dictators and terrorists, is self-defense, not murder.

icclearly: "So you blindly conclude that it's okay for us to attack other nations for regime change from some "created threat" like an advancing evil empire (Vietnam), WMDs (Iraq), or revenge (Afghanistan) that resulted in the loss of life of millions -- many of which were our own citizens/soldiers.
And they lost their life for "exactly what?"
But, yet when Russia does exactly the same from real threats (missiles on its border, ever-advancing NATO, broken promises/treaties) and then moves to protect its interest and even offers to negotiate a settlement, which we summarily dismissed, it's not okay."

Now you're just babbling pure nonsense, since none of that is true.
The truth is that the US had ample legal justifications for helping defend South Vietnam from Communist invasions, Iraq's neighbors from its dictator's threats and invasions, and Afghanistan's from its global terrorist activities.

Nothing remotely resembling such actual invasions, terrorism and threats existed in Ukraine.
The expansions of NATO are utterly irrelevant to Russian security since, at any time they wish, Russians could join NATO and thus 100% eliminate any potential dangers.
Ukraine had no nuclear weapons and no serious military to threaten Russia with.
Ukraine only wished to be independent and free of Russian domination, and that is in no legal sense anywhere, ever, justification for Vlad the Invader's "special military operations" in Ukraine.

icclearly: "Get real.
We're not living in 1945 any longer.
That was another time with another people (great people).
Today, we're rotting as both a country and military power while much of the rest of the world that we've dictated and bullied over the last 70-plus years have grown up.
And like our children, they make their own decisions when they grow up.
You know, like the BRICS countries."

And your nonsense just keeps on coming!

In fact, since the dawn of time, human nature is immutable, and the behavior of empires thousands of years ago was the same as today.
And the very first rule of human nature and empires is this:

In Ukraine, Vlad the Invader saw weaknesses, not just in Ukraine, but also in NATO and the world in general, especially after our disgraceful withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, and so Vlad decided it was now or never to fulfill his wet-dreams of conquest and revanchism in Ukraine.

Had we remained strong, as we were under Pres. Trump, there would be no invasions of Ukraine and therefore no war there.

icclearly: "We can continue to operate as we have over the past 70 years and fail miserably or pull up a seat at the table and iron out our differences like adults.
So, I'm really not sure what universe you are from, but for the sake of us all -- GO BACK."

And still more nonsense from you...

Nobody today can predict exactly how Russia's invasion of Ukraine will end, but any reasonable person hopes for the best for Ukraine and the worst possible punishment for Vlad the Invader.
So long as Ukrainians themselves are willing to fight to defend their country against illegal invasions, we should be there to help them as best we can.
