After the failure of the much-hyped Summer offensive of the Ukrainian forces, with as much as 70k human losses in a little over 3 months, Kiev has ramped up dramatically the efforts to forcibly conscript every able-bodied male – and some not so able – and are starting with Medical Women, too.
At the same time, Kiev tries to cripple the many gangs that are selling a most valuable service, righht now: help to evade mobilization.

The positive note is that the money we send for humanitarian purposes can now be spent on bribes and kickbacks. Most of it already has been. But now an even larger proportion.

Indeed. LOL! Nothing says “winning” louder and more confidently than conscripting 15 year-olds and retirees over 65, begging neighboring countries to arrest & return your citizens, and then demanding the USA send you another $25 billion.

Now that Zelensky has all but promised to activate his 5th Column in the rest of Europe, if the Europeans stop the Gravy Train, it would be VERY WISE of the European governments to start sending back their so-called “Ukrainian Refugees”, at least the ones able to walk.
When it came to the guys who ran away to Canada? Of course, I’m a freeper.
The answer to every single ultimatum is no/bye.
Not everyone was an America-hating hard lefty, so it was always the draft dodger that lost.
I would never put a host on the spot.
When absolute scum is in the room and a war is raging, you have to, these were guys who fled but would sneak back into America for clandestine visits.

Your impression is correct, which is why I stated that I’ve never been in your position.
It was intense and I was a very conservative and patriotic Texan, also I was trying for a permanent draft deferment at the time, and beating the draft was delaying my enlisting in the Army.
Who says they can't? Wasn't it Lindsey Graham who recently said "American may soon need to provide men for the war effort in Ukraine"..??

Many of my friends enlisted and all were conservative/libertarian politically.
I went in 5 months before 9/11 so my public treatment was 180 to yours.
