That pure sound is gone now from the Corps, 4 bladed fully articulated Hueys.
Always loved hearing them go over the house and their slow whomp, whomp sound. My husband always said, “Heuy coming”. He was a jump instructor at Ft. Benning in the early 60’s and trained the boys going to Nam. I’m not crazy about the jets that go screaming over the house just under the sound barrier though.
