Zelenskyy: 86 international companies confirm participation in Ukraine’s Defense Industries Forum
So far 86 leading defense companies from 21 countries have confirmed their participation in the Defense Industries Forum, which will be held in Ukraine this autumn.

QUOTE: “We continue to prepare the Defense Industries Forum, the first such event to be held in Ukraine. It will be taking place this autumn.
Interest in the Forum is very high. This fully reflects the strength and potential of Ukraine, our ability to protect ourselves and help other countries preserve freedom and international order... So far 86 leading defense companies in the world from 21 countries have confirmed their participation in the Forum.”
The Ukrainian President added that the task of the Forum is “to give all the opportunities for Ukraine to produce weapons and ammunition, to give it modern technologies in order to have reliable protection against any form of aggression,” as well as “to share our defence experience, the experience of Ukrainian defence among allies and partners.”
BACKGROUND:
- In June 2023, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced the organisation of “a serious international event that will give impetus to the creation of an alliance of defence industries, of which Ukraine, in particular the Ministry of Strategic Industry and Ukroboronprom, will be a part.”
- This alliance will be designed to solve two tasks: to ensure the constancy of supplies of Western equipment to Ukraine, as well as to integrate the Ukrainian military-industrial complex of Ukraine into the Western defence industry.

Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, has said that problems on the battlefield and in the economy are pushing Russia further into the hands of “unreliable actors”.

Bauer said Russia is becoming increasingly dependent on “unreliable actors” due to Western sanctions and diplomatic pressure.
The Russian armed forces are losing more and more positions, and the whole of Russia is suffering from the consequences of economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation, Bauer said at the annual conference of the NATO Military Committee in Oslo.
QUOTE:
“Russia is forced to cooperate with unreliable actors and is becoming increasingly dependent.”
Bauer did not name which specific global actors he had in mind. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. The US government has warned North Korea against supplying weapons to Moscow.
Putin also has many contacts with other controversial rulers, such as Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. Shortly after Kim Jong Un, the former also arrived at a meeting in the Russian Federation, his seventh this year so far. Belarus has long been considered Russia’s closest ally in the war against Ukraine.
NATO Admiral Bauer also said that the Russian leadership believes it will survive the determination of the Ukrainian people and their allies. “Russia has been preparing for confrontation for years and is ready to expose its people and its economy to endless difficulties,” Bauer said.
In July, Rob Bauer said that Russia is now weakened due to the war against Ukraine, and the Alliance has time to build up collective security before Moscow recovers its strength.

Ukraine has secured the entire southern flank today near Bakhmut in a sweep. Russian forces were filmed retreating en masse from the advancing Ukrainian army. The Samun was towed back into Sevastapol today with damage to the stern, knocking it out of action. Russian forces have also been hit hard around Robotyne. A Russian PMC has also seized an oil refinery around Irkutsk.
