That’s awsome that you got published.

I am not vegetarian so I do like those little smokies in there. They add so much flavor.

I’m not a vegetarian either. Add all the meat you want! This stuff smells SO GOOD when you start with the oil and the spices in the crock pot.

That alone is worth the price of admission. :)

“Now that the wood stove is going, I can put it on to simmer there.”

You have no idea how jealous I am! I really really want to install a wood stove. We moved from a house with two to none.

Post a picture when you can!

“Here’s my Lentil Soup recipe that got published at Food.com:”

That is wonderful, you’re a published chef! How did that come about?

I’m going to save that and definitely try it. It’ll have to be after Thanksgiving though. I’m trying to minimize anything that goes into my refrigerator

Sounds delicious and you have some great reviews. I love how it could be either a soup or a side dish. I never thought of using a thicker soup as a side dish, this opens up a lot of possibilities.

If I were just cooking for myself, it would be homemade soup and homemade bread every day for supper. And/or lunch. And snacks, LOL!

Same here. My husband’s doesn’t seem to think that’s a full meal. So I try to add a sandwich but he’s still not happy.

My meat-eater needs meat at the two meals we eat each day. (We ‘fast’ from after supper until Noon the next day.) Sometimes we have a ‘Popcorn & Movie Night.’ I won’t lie. ;)

Once in a while I catch him gnawing on one of the dog chew bones, LOL! (Just kidding.)

He’s an awesome hunter/fisherman, so we are never short of meat. We also raise a beef steer each season and just found out our neighbor sells his pasture-raised hogs, so we bought a half this October.

Work is progressing on the barn re-model which will include a chicken coop. Yay! I’ve really missed having laying hens. We had to stop work on the coop as we had an ‘Oopsie!’ pregnancy this Bear Season and now have a Mama Dog and six pups that needed more room. (A new ‘Puppy Pen’ was going to be re-built, but AFTER the coop was finished.)

At least she was smart enough to get knocked up by a pedigreed Champion Bear Dog. I’ll give her credit for that. ;)

“We ‘fast’ from after supper until Noon the next day”

Is that for health reasons? I’ve been reading about those intermittent fasting plans.

I assume these are similar but the old ones are ceramic and are/were apparently held down to seal with the old zinc lid/bands…

yes very similar

Tattler has some colored ones I’m thinking of getting. at first I liked the sea of white lids in my canning storage. but I think colored ones will liven it up!

I just put a bunch of Ball wide mouth lids (I mainly have WM quart jars), Tattler rings, and a few regular mouth Lids in mylar. I’ve used so many Tattler lids, I had almost 2 cases of Ball Lids left. I didn’t realize I used them so seldom.

Not to mention that a big pot of soup can go a long way and is very easy to reheat for meals that require very little prep time.

*All* does not ping out your list.

If you want the ping listees to know, you have to re-ping the list.

Learned that the hard way.

“All* does not ping out your list.”

Yeah I know, I just thought it was a bit too early to Ping the list. Especially the day before thanksgiving. But I’ll ping everybody saturday, give them enough time to check out all the deals at Tattler! And maybe post any others they know of

Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving! I’m finally done with mine and getting to rest. I have the mama cat next to me purring. I just fed the kittens and they were purring and loving turkey. This has got to be the sweetest litter

I’m beginning to think soup is the ultimate prepper food. We might have to do a week on it.

You can get Tattler Reusable Lids for as little as 60 cents each and disposable lids as little as 28.5 cents each. To me, the best thing about the Disposable Lids is they each come with the Tattler rubber ring. It is reusable up to about 10 times and fits both the Disposable and reusable lid. So after I would use one with the Disposable lid, then I have it to use with the reusable lids. Sorry, you probably figured that out...lol

If anyone hears of any other good prepping sales for Black Friday or cyber monday, please let us know
