A shocking video of tourists sprinting towards a bear at Yellowstone National Park has gone viral and prompted backlash on social media.
The clip shows a mother black bear and her two cubs sniffing around in the grass, alongside a road full of queuing cars.
Suddenly, a group of tourists jump out of their vehicles, point, and then begin to sprint towards the bears.
There are four men running, one of whom appears to be carrying a toddler in his arms, while a woman comes into shot approaching the animals with a camera.
Thankfully, the mama bear and her cubs seemed to be startled by the approaching people and quickly ran away from the cars.
However, people on social media have been quick to point out that the situation could have ended up very differently.
Journalist Yashar Ali shared the video on Twitter, calling their actions 'absolutely insane' and 'sick'.
Responding to the video, someone else wrote 'We witnessed this happening about 12 years ago when we visited Yellowstone. People yelling at their kids to run toward mom and cubs. CRAZY.'
Another said 'The multiple things that could go wrong here. Wow.'

Who are we to decide? /s
It would have made a great “public service announcement” video.
Too bad the adults survived, but even worse, the child is being raised by these idiots.
I’d like to know who these people voted for.
This is reminding of that idiot a few weeks ago that stuck his finger into a lion’s den through the fence, still laughing at that. This group of fools was likely headed towards the bears for a group selfie but there was no cliff to walk back over to get closer to the Sun and fall over like the other dimwits.

If they didn’t vote democrat before this incident, they 100% would after if mama bear felt threatened and acted accordingly.
Looks like it’s stupid season!

You succeeded
I donβt even ave to guess
You don’t mess with animals in the wild. I’ve recently learned from walking in a forest full of black walnut trees that the does living in there will stare at you for a bit, then run off deeper in the woods when you get close enough. Bucks, even if they don’t have antlers will stand their ground, and start stomping their front hooves in the ground occasionally. I get the message the first time.
I was going to say Asians.
There was a man and son (dot-Indians) that put a baby bison in their back seat! The bison had to be put down after the herd didn’t accept it back. Although to be honest, it looked like the baby had already been abandoned by the herd, and the two guys were trying to rescue it the best they knew how.
Bears call that “Door Dash”.
What a group of a$$holes! Had the mother felt threatened and protected cubs she would have maimed or killed someone. She would have been put down for doing what is natural and the cubs would either go in captivity or die. I would not feel one iota of sympathy for the idiots just the children.
You can’t fix stupid, I feel sorry for child, they don’t know any better, the adults that should know better might be better if they were thinned from the herd.
Even if you don’t anything about wildlife, it should be common sense, that a 1000-pound bear is going to be protective of her cubs and it would be better to use discretion and stay away from animals in the wild.
Itβs a warning to other deer within earshot. The bucks wonβt bother you, either.
The does in our yard stomp their front feet at me when I go out in the garden, especially in late spring when theyβve thrown their fawns. I stomp my leg right back at them and the unnerves them. They take off when I do that (or yell, growl, wave my arms, etc). I play it differently with the bucks, especially this time of year.
Such a beautiful photo of a magnificent creature. Thanks for sharing.
He looks like serious business.
That is so spectacular and majestic. You must have felt like walking on Holy ground. Like coming face to face with a real Unicorn. Just look at that gigantic rack.
