Households making $100K are lower middle class lifestyle in the city. Unless it is a single person household and even then that is not living large.

Michael Jordan’s awful house has sat empty for 7+ years and he can’t sell it. This won’t help.

He was wise to not build it in Chicago.

A mansion tax? It may raise some millions in revenue, but Chicago spends about 16 billion a year. The tax will just be a drop in the bucket.

How many more creative taxing methods can they come up with?

Nah, they got accountants that they get them out of it.

It’s the poor middle class that will get soaked as always.

Los Angeles, Kalifornia tried to institute a mansion tax at the point of sale. The month BEFORE the tax went into effect, Los Angeles had a large increase in mansion sales. As soon as the tax went into effect...... drip.......drip.....drip. Sales plummeted.

What a Surprise!

The situation at O’Hare Airport is deeply concerning. Housing migrants at one of the country’s busiest airports, hidden behind curtains, raises multiple questions about security, public resources, and priorities.

The fact that homeless Americans were evicted from the airport while migrants are being housed there is a slap in the face to citizens.

As someone connected to the aviation world, I know airports have tight security protocols. If these aren’t applied to everyone, including migrants, that’s a major issue.
Additionally, the city of Chicago has ongoing problems with crime, which makes you wonder why resources are being diverted in this way.

The lack of transparency from the mayor’s office adds another layer of concern. Where is the funding coming from for this crisis, and why aren’t these funds being used to tackle existing problems in Chicago? It seems like the city’s leaders have misplaced their priorities, and it’s the everyday Americans living there who are paying the price.

Chicago’s O’Hare Airport being used as a migrant shelter as crisis ...

$1 Million Dollars is not what it used to be.
There are several blah looking homes in California right now, selling for well over $1 Million. Much of the market value depends on what the land is worth now or potentially worth.

Tax the wealthy up the wazoo until they flee and take their ‘taxable revenues’ with them. Same old stupid leftist playbook that doesn’t work yet these morons try it over and over again to infinity. ScHitCago.

Taxpayers in Cook County, the collar counties and across the state of Illinois have been forced to bear the burden for too long.

My wife has a lot of relatives and long time friends, who are good conservative people living in Illinois.

They don’t want to address this reality and get the hell out of Illinois and move to Iowa or Indiana or Texas.

Long time Illinois industries like Caterpillar have left Illinois or are leaving due to this reality of Chicago criminals/thugs being financed by Illinois taxpayers.

Here’s a tax I would favor:
Confiscating every cent and every item a politician received in graft or kickback while in office and ten years afterwards.
