Many folks know the difference between morals and ethics.
Ethics is merely following corporate/agency policies, the law, and social norms.
Morals is following a religious doctrine that defines right and wrong outside of what people say it is. Abortion is legal, but it’s still morally wrong. Homosexuality is legal, but it’s still morally wrong...
Furthermore, the idea that something is “marketed” should not be foreign or negatively stigmatized if you believe in a free market. You’re right, today we have a lot more and a return of good beer post prohibition.
The real problem is that in a society as ours, where morals are lost and a Constitution is meaningless, where you have flagrant inconsistencies and double standards, things start going sideways.
The laws and government policies reflect the values of society. And when society gets stupid and weird...
