Spanish Soccer President Luis Rubiales Resigns Amid World Cup Kiss Controversy

Rubiales announced his resignation Sunday in a message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Luis Rubiales, the disgraced head of the Spanish soccer federation, finally folded under immense pressure Sunday and resigned three weeks after his kiss of a player on the lips without her consent overshadowed Spain’s first-ever Women’s World Cup title.
Rubiales had been at the center of a scandal that had gone far beyond Spain’s borders and the world of sport after he kissed Jenni Hermoso during the globally televised awards ceremony after Spain beat England to win the title on Aug. 20 in Sydney, Australia.
“After my swift suspension by FIFA, and the rest of the cases building against me, it is clear that I cannot return to the post,” Rubiales said on Sunday in a message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After WAY too much training I and many male employees tried to avoid having anything to do with female employees. Every glance could be interpreted as harrasement. I was almost fired for harrasement even though the woman said no harrasement took place. What was important was if “an uninvolved third party believed there was harrasement.”

This should have been the pinnacle of this guy's career, but he screwed it up. True. Unfortunately he was culturally tone deaf.
Ironically, I happened upon an episode of Family Feud recently while channel surfing early in the am and saw the host, Richard Dawson, kissing all of the female contestants on the lips. That was a bit before my time, but wow have times changed.
