I have a friend from church who earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for some helicopter he performed in Vietnam. He doesn’t talk of it but it’s great to be in the shadow of a hero on Sundays.

It was a lengthy ceremony, and he spoke pretty well - for him - and managed to hang the lanyard, but then nearly dozed off while the story of the recipient’s courage was read by someone else.

He didn’t want to listen to the benediction because it was going to be said by a black man. He’s proud of Delaware having been a slave state.
He looked as if he saw something interesting in the hallway at the back of the room. Maybe a couple of little girls walked by.

Question, did he salute the MoH recipient? A MoH recipient is the only person even the CiC is supposed to render a salute too. If he didn’t, then he is even more so disrespectful.
Maybe his check bounced?
