Didn’t make a lot of money but we still had fun.

1970 I walked to my local McDonald’s (it was about 5 miles LOL - took guitar lessons next door to it).

As I recall, I got a hamburger (or cheeseburger), fries and a Coke and still got change back from $1.

The McDonald’s is still there - went by it about 9-10 years ago. Our old house is still there.

Despite a sense of turbulence and malaise and unease in that decade, in retrospect, the 1970s might have been peak America. The rot started soon after.
