New research provides evidence that left-wing authoritarianism is a valid concept that predicts important real-world phenomena, including restrictive communication norms and dogmatism.
The findings, published in Frontiers in Psychology, are based on data collected from more than 8,000 U.S. residents and more than 60,000 individuals from around the world.
“It’s obvious to a lot of people that left-wing persons can be just as authoritarian as right-wing persons, and yet academics have been curiously reluctant to admit that, or even to show interest in studying it. We wanted to provide more definitive scientific evidence that left-wing authoritarianism was a real and pervasive problem, not just in the United States, but around the world.”

I agree. However, America would be better off if we had a right-wing authoritarian. It seems that Republicans are pussies and incapable of providing a modicum of control over the feral leftists.
I might be an outlier. I’ve always thought I would be an excellent king. As king I would have my security forces crack down on crime. There will be peace and prosperity, damnit. There would be no politics or politicians to mess things up.

Nazis and Communists were fighting in the streets. When the Nazis came to power they banned and imprisoned the Communists and Socialists and made alliances with the Nationalists and the military. However we think of the Nazis now, people at the time considered them to be right-wing, based on what they saw going on.
A king might work for a while. Considering the term limit for a king is rather long, it’s better than the corrupt politicians that seem to continually themselves. Give the king a few trillion dollars and reduce the need to be corrupt. That’s cheaper than what we have now. American subjects could quite possibly live the majority of their lives in peace and prosperity. (That’s only semi-serious.)

I’ve been reading articles on Hitler’s ideology. The Left claims he was on the Right and the Right claims he was on the Left.
Actually he hated them both as they were power structures that wanted to destroy Hitler. He was a National Populist with desires to be an emperor. He was a centrist extremist.
I was amazed when visiting a former Panzer tank crew member in Hitler’s War when he cried in response to a Christian hymn that he said they sang during his induction ceremony into Hitler’s Army.
This man was captured by the Russians in May 1945 and shipped to Siberia as a POW until 1952 when the Russians sent him back to East Germany as a Russian spy in the Stasi. I visited him shortly after the wall came down.
It was interesting how Hitler demonized the Jews to motivate the Christians as the Jews killed Jesus. Hitler gained power by playing the Right against the Left and vv. He was an instigator creating division.
I study history to look for repeating patterns today.
I initially thought the same as you until I dug deeper.
Hitler was a manipulative narcissist who took whatever position was best for him at the time. In the same way Vladimir Lenin and later Stalin used the Jews during the revolution and then turned on them.
How ironic -- that is EXACTLY what we had with President Trump. Then the Deep State, intel community, DOD, MSM, DNC, corrupt DAs, and all leftists conspired to falsely make him out to be corrupt. They kept that merciless drumbeat up for years. The sheeple were too stupid to use their own thinking capability or logic to see how untrue and illogical that was. In the end, they destroyed the incorruptible King.
