That’s odd. My laptop running brave still blocks ads on yt, but my android phone plays them.
Yes!
I do IT stuff for The Gateway Pundit (and a number of other sites), and hear from many readers about the problems they’ve recently been having with Brave.
I believe it’s related to https://easylist.to/easylist/easylist.txt — a leftist-generated set of rules that most ad blockers use to break ads. Instead of just breaking ads, though, the rules are now breaking embedded tweets, images, comments, and other things.
The solution is to disable “shields” when a particular site isn’t rendering for you.
DDG has its own set of issues.
DuckDuckGo’s “Referrer Tracking Protection” service ( https://help.duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/privacy/web-tracking-protections/#referrer-tracking-protection ), for example, is breaking the pagination functionality on the TheGatewayPundit.com homepage.
The way TGP manages homepage pagination is pretty standard, so it’s too bad DDG isn’t accommodating this approach.
Running fine for me.
Fresh install (About a month ago.) on a new Win 11 laptop.
Version 1.57.57 Chromium: 116.0.5845.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Shields up on YouTube. No ads and everything plays.
I have had to drop shields on a few financial sites for them to recognize my login info and such.
