After the BP spill he just showed up unannounced at his sisters place, Lulus in Gulf Shores Alabama (Roll Tide).

Facebook spread his visit like wildfire and within 30 minutes, the place was packed.

I remember several unannounced concerts in New Orleans, where Jimmy and the Coral Reefers would appear under the name "Freddy and the Fishsticks". Got into Tipitina's once for a "Freddy" show; it was always a small venue for those appearances. Even pre-internet, those scaled-down concerts would sell out fast, based on word spreading as quickly as people could call their friends.

You go to every thread to do this
Really?

It’s tacky

He didn’t promote his views in his shows to his credit

Do you hate everyone you disagree with ?

Wardaddy, appreciate your comments. The problem is that these artists pour their money into poisonous and toxic causes that seek to undermine everything we believe in. Sure, the lyrics of their songs do not promote their political views, but Buffett has campaigned religiously for every leftist Democrat over the past 3 decades, most notably for sodomizer Andrew Gillum in Florida.

So yes, the lyrics are benign, and average show is apolitical, but increasingly, they are firmly aligned with all the radical stances of the wicked left.

We did not care about this in the past since the Democrat party of your youth (the 1960s/70s/80s) was not actively hostile to the foundation of Western society. The two parties of that era, while divergent on policies, nonetheless shared some foundational tenets such as about the nation, family, God, free speech, etc. In that era, we could ignore the political differences of artists and enjoy their work in an apolitical manner.

Unfortunately, the left has politicized everything, and has made "destroying the traditions of the West" one of its core principles in the past decade or two. It is hard therefore for us to look past this and continue supporting artists who fund such causes.

It sure seems that just about everyone in the entertainment business is liberal. It just seems to go with the territory that if they feel the need to make a political statement that statement will be a liberal statement.

I lost interest in Buffett when he became more of a trademark than not. But my late husband and I listened all of his earlier music so there are a lot of memories in them for me. A “Pirate looks at Forty” brings tears other songs bring smiles. They all help me recall our days of first love.

A friend of mine had some of Buffett’s pre Key West music. Mostly Bluegrass if memory serves.

It’s Green Guilt. They are so guilty of the money they’re rakin’ in they feel the need to present themselves as a “nice person who really cares about chipmunks and stuff.” Taylor Swift started rakin’ in the billions and instantly went full far-left retard.

More of an unthinking airheaded Lotus eater.   Still RIP, because I loved the songs and books.   Especially "Where Is Joe Merchant?"

Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Maybe you’re right he may deserve the venom

I usually reserve that for pol pot or Charles Manson that sort of thing

Buffett struck me as a southern democrat who unlike 90% never saw the light where his party went as Reagan did

The irony is he prolly still thought he was counter culture when in fact elite lefties had become the culture

That and he was absorbed into the celeb peer borg

I was counter culture then and still am

The cultures changed more than my own nature

Anti establishment and conformity
