(I was in Indy in 67 to see Parnelli Jones run away from the field,... quietly too. Rain stopped it until the next day, but the guy that paid my Dad to fly him and a friend to the race, had to be elsewhere the following day. A real bummer for a 13 yr old kid.
We, in a Cessna 310, almost had a collision with an idiot pilot that cut in front of Dad on final approach to the grass runway they used near the Speedway. While Dad made a go-around he told me ‘watch that Bonanza, see where it parks!”)
We landed, parked, and Dad trotted ahead to confront the idiot. The two men and I caught up. The guy was pale, probably thinking he was going to be pounded. An interesting day)

I was on a flight from CMH to DFW and we were about 50’AGL at night and suddenly it was full throttle and nose/gear up. While We were still climbing back out the Pilot comes on the PA and says “Sorry folks but there was another aircraft on our runway.” Calmly like it was the Welcome Aboard greeting.
I was in planes ever since I could remember as Dad worked for AA and that was the only real dangerous situation I remember.
There was a flight from DFW to AUS on Southwest and I was sitting by the Emergency Wing Exit and I looked out over the wing while at the gate like I usually do and everything looked normal then when we were about halfway to AUS I noticed that 3 screws had started backing out of a panel midwing so I ordered a second drink and spent the rest of the flight watching those screws slowly getting longer above the panel. But the panel wasn’t flapping around. When we were at the gate I waited for everyone else to deplane and when the Flight Attendant asked if I was OK I said “yes but you might want to tell the someone about those 3 screws that were backing out starting about halfway here.” She looked out the window and “said how long ?” I repeated “halfway here but I didn’t see any reason to have any Passengers freaking out about it because there was nothing to really do since we were at the halfway point.” She thanked Me for keeping it to myself.
