Cardboard Drones were effectively used to destroy Russian jets in Ukraine. Cardboard drones are a cost effective solution (a few thousand dollars including military grade-guidance systems and explosions) to destroy Russian aviation ($10+ Million dollar planes). They are also difficult to detect by radar.

The cardboard fuselage and wings probably amounted to AUD 10.00 of that.

Yemeni drones are no longer coming for Saudi refineries. That may take some looking into.

Probably not any more. That was Jan., 2016. Pretty small stuff can be detected, IF you know what to look for, over wide, flat ground, or open water. But it requires extreme vigilance — probably AI assisted would be best.

In a more complex environment, though, the task is much more difficult. Too much “clutter”. AI can “filter” some of that out. Some.

“How do you know it was undetected?”

Thge Iranians claimed the footage showed no sign that anyone on board detected the drone.

“US didn’t have an answer when Yemeni drones came for the Saudi refineries.”

Saudi refineries are a Saudi problem especially since US forces have no operational authority inside the Kingdom.

“Drone Harbor”

That’s a great expression! Is this an original? If so I’ll credit you if I use this in the future.

I think the Saudis looked at the cost/benefit and realized the war was about to spiral into something much worse and decided to cut their losses:

During the Munich Security Conference in February 2020, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, signaled that the Saudi-Houthi backchannel talks were not “ready to move to the highest level.” However, the situation changed following the Houthi ballistic missile attack on Jazan and Riyadh in late March, and on April 8, the coalition’s Joint Forces Command announced a two-week unilateral cease-fire in Yemen. This came just a week after the Saudi ambassador to the country, Mohammed al-Jaber, invited the Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government for talks in Riyadh.

I don't disagree with the first sentiment, but the Trump admin didn't act that way:

The Defense Department announced Oct. 11, 2019, that it will deploy two Patriot missile batteries to Saudi Arabia.
