Researchers have shed new light on the age-old concept of “beer goggles”, debunking the popular belief that alcohol enhances attractiveness perception. A study conducted by Stanford University and published in the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs has shown that alcohol does not influence how attractive people find others.
The research involved 18 pairs of men who consumed roughly three standard drinks in a little over 30 minutes. The participants were asked to rate the attractiveness of individuals of the same age in photographs and videos, both while sober and under the influence of alcohol. It was found that the male participants’ attractiveness ratings remained constant, regardless of their sobriety levels.

No matter how much alcohol you drink President Retard is still an idiot
This could be an interesting thread.
Bill must have been wearing beer goggles when he proposed to Hillary.
It's simply that you lose inhibitions, including inhibitions about being with a less attractive person below that of your perceived normal standards :)
So much for “Went to bed at 2 with a 10 and woke up at 10 with a 2”.
But validates the “Hold my beer” meme.
Headline: Stanford Researchers Rename “Beer Goggles,” instead calling them “Beer Spectacles”
Don’t the girls all get prettier at closing time
Don’t they all begin to look like movie stars
Don’t the girls all get prettier at closing time
When the change starts takin’ place
It puts a glow on every face
Of the fallen angels of the backstreet bars

Science Proves that Beer Goggles Are Real, But Are They Really So Bad?

If I could rate ‘em on a scale from one to ten
I’m lookin’ for a nine, but eight could work right in
A few more drinks and I might slip to five or even four
But when tomorrow mornin’ comes
And I wake up with a number one
I swear I’ll never do it anymore
I’ve always that that concept of “beer goggles” was intentionally ironic.
It’s not that I really thought she was beautiful, but after a whole night of drinking, I was just willing to go home with a woman who looked like she did — and she was willing to go home with a guy that looked like me. It’s about lowering the standards, because you’re drunk.
I can’t believe anyone got a grant to study the aesthetics of the matter.
You can drink em cute.
you can’t can’t drink em skinny.
3 drinks in the average guy would barely get him over the legal intoxication limit. I suspect it takes at least twice this intake before the beer goggles reliably kick in.
Just my $0.02 based on hearsay, of course, not in any way related to my college years in New Orleans. ;-)

“shown that alcohol does not influence how attractive people find others”
That’s not how “beer goggles” works. You don’t find the people any more attractive, you are just willing to lower your standards more, as you continue to drink and your inhibitions are lowered and impulse control gets harder.
these people don’t actually understand what happens with “beer goggles”
It’s not that ugly girls become better looking, its more like you don’t care anymore how ugly they are, because you are simply horny and anyone of the opposite sex will do at that point.
Not nearly drunk enough for a valid test.
Next up for the Stanford researchers: determining the truth of Benjamin Franklin’s statement that beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
It’s not the beer goggles, it’s running out of time before “Last call!”
Link didn’t work so I read what I could from the excerpt.
3 drinks does not beer googles make...try 10 to 12. Then we’re talking BEER GOGGLES. It’s real!
That’s what fat girls and mopeds have in common.
They are both a helluva lot of fun to ride but you don’t want your buddies to see you.
