29 Aug: Ukrainian M2 Bradley’s PENETRATE Melitopol Line and BREAKTHROUGH Russian Defense for 20 km Ukraine’s victory is closer than the West thinks.
Despite the Western media’s gloomy coverage of Ukraine’s counter-offensive, today Ukrainian troops are making significant progress. Kiev’s successes have recently spread to the entire front lines of Zaporizhia. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced that fighters entered Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region and raised the blue and yellow flag there the next day.
This is what Ukrainians and their allies have been longing to see all summer. In this regard, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar confirmed that her country’s heroic army had liberated the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The architects of this success were the powerful tanks of the West and the brave soldiers of Ukraine. In particular, the 47th Mechanized Brigade and the 82nd Airborne Tarruz Brigade stormed the southern region with American, British and German tanks. The advanced equipment provided by the West, such as the Challenger and Leopard heavy battle tanks and the Marder and Bradley M2 light tanks, was finally showing some results. Under intense Russian bombardment, the Bradley fighting vehicles provided by the US to Ukraine are now playing a critical role in pushing the Russians back.
New video from the 47th Mechanized Brigade shows soldiers stepping out of armored vehicles into newly liberated territory. There, in the village of Robotyne, they are embraced by civilians who have been under Russian occupation since the beginning of the war. Thus, the 47th Mechanized Brigade Amrikan, with its German and British heavy armored vehicles, has set its sights even further, past Russia’s first lines of defense. The goal is not a few villages, but the entire Azov coast, including Crimea.
To do so, the Ukrainians will have to overcome several more layers of Russian minefields and trenches. But today’s advances suggest that this phase will not be too difficult for Ukrainian forces. Because in just a few days Ukrainian forces managed to advance several miles from Robtyne in the directions of Berdiansk and Melitopol. After the liberation of Robotyne, Ukrainian forces started to advance towards the Tokmak line. The Ukrainian counteroffensive needs to advance 7-10 miles to disrupt Russia’s east-west transportation routes and hamper the Russian army’s ability to mobilize and fight. To this end, Ukrainian forces are now breaking Russian defensive lines both in the Tokmak direction and in Verbone, east of Robotyne.
Dozens of British Challenger tanks, German Leopard tanks and a large number of Western armored vehicles under the control of Ukrainian army troops are about to break through the Russian defenses on the Tokmak line. The last time Ukrainian tank units and infantry groups destroyed two Russian ammunition depots in Tokmak. Ukrainian offensives in this direction are currently continuing. Ukrainian troops have broken through 20 kilometers of Russian lines in the Tokmak-Melitopol direction. This is very serious progress and a remarkable achievement. Robotyne is a village in the Zaporizhzhia region occupied by the Russians in March 2022. It is located on the road from Orikhiv to the occupied Tokmak, described as the logistics center of the Russian army. The Tokmak settlement is about 20 kilometers from Robotyne and Melitopol is further away.
In a way, Ukraine has captured one of the most important routes of the Russian logistics lines in the south. General Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, confirmed this week that Ukraine is finally fighting on Russia’s first line of defense. The last time the Russians fled Verbove, northeast of Tokmak, after this heavy raid. Ukrainian troops entered this settlement and significantly supported their offensive from there. The fleeing Russian troops were reportedly heading east of Verbove. Having seized the initiative in Verbove, the Ukrainians are planning to advance to Melitopol after Tokmak.
In other words, there are actually all possibilities for Kiev to completely seize the initiative in Melitopol. Both Robotyne and Verbove settlements are located northeast of Melitopol. Between this offensive corridor, i.e. between Robotyne-Verbove and Melitopol, is the city of Tokmak, so the Ukrainian forces’ offensive plans should continue in a phased manner.
Of course, we should not forget the Ukrainian partisan units in Melitopol. They are also currently working on Kiev’s liberation plans. A report for the day.
First of all, the NSDC. I held a meeting today. As I said earlier, there was only one issue - MMCs.
The inspection of military medical commissions across the country is underway. Law enforcers will complete it soon. And there are already several conclusions.
It is necessary to check a significant number of decisions of the military medical commissions on disability and unfitness for military service that were made after February 24. Today, the relevant statistics were presented at the National Security and Defense Council. There are examples of regions where the number of people removed from the military register due to the MMC’s decision has increased tenfold since February last year. It is absolutely clear what these decisions are. Corrupt decisions. And in the criminal proceedings that are currently underway against the staff of MMCs and MSECs, it is even clearer how many decisions could have been falsified. Law enforcement officers have already clearly identified unreasonable MMCs’ decisions. Specific evidence has been recorded. It has been presented behind closed doors. Different regions of the country, different TRCs, different officials. The bribes range from 3 to 15 thousand dollars. They will be held accountable.
The list of those who went abroad due to obviously dubious decisions of MMCs will be analyzed separately. First of all, due to the decisions of those who have already been caught taking bribes. We are talking about at least thousands of people.
We will also address the issue that almost all commanders in the field are referring to - the concept of so-called limited fitness. For a very long time, this concept allowed for manipulation in the manning of units. In particular, combat brigades. Everything related to fitness or unfitness for military service must be as clear as possible. So that a person understands how he or she can help the defense, and so that the units have clarity on who will be joining them.
And a very important point is the digitalization of the MMCs’ work. No more queues. No more wandering around to find or sign the right paper. All this can be ensured electronically and by the presence of the necessary military personnel at the place where the medical examination takes place, if it is in a civilian medical institution. Government officials will complete this digitalization work. And we need full accessibility in all areas of the civilian medical system for the purpose of undergoing the MMC’s examination. Some regions, such as Volyn, have ensured this one hundred percent. And another example is that in Kyiv, almost nothing has been done to allow people to undergo the MMC’s examination in civilian medical institutions.
Therefore, the military command, the medical sector, and all levels of government must work as actively as possible to resolve this issue.
The second topic for today is our international agenda. We are actively preparing for the negotiations and meetings scheduled for September. I have held meetings with international relations officials, with our ambassadors in the respective countries. We clearly see which leaders we need to meet and negotiate with, and what results we have to bring to Ukraine.
The third issue is the European Union. I held a large meeting with representatives of the parliament, government officials, and our international relations officials on our readiness for the launch of membership negotiations with the EU. The implementation of the recommendations. The necessary bills that have already been prepared and need to be passed in the parliament. 226 votes for each decision for Ukraine in the European Union is an obligation.
And a few more things.
Peace Formula. Today, a new meeting was held with representatives of diplomatic missions on the implementation of the Peace Formula. Andriy Yermak chaired it. And today, there were 11 more diplomats, bringing the total to more than 70 diplomatic missions involved. This is a very good dynamic. And there can be even more participating states. The world majority will be with us.
The Peace Formula is designed so that every country and every leader can demonstrate their capabilities for the sake of a common result, for a just and lasting peace.
And our air defense. I thank every warrior who defends Ukrainian skies every day and every night. We are working very hard to provide Ukraine with new air defense systems. Now is not the time to talk publicly about the details, but negotiations on additional air defense systems are ongoing with our various partners. Step by step, we are bringing this success closer for Ukraine.

The US is working with Romania and Moldova to increase grain exports from Ukraine via the Danube River, exploring alternative routes after Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

We’re not directly involved in the negotiations, but our teams are working closely with the UN and the Turks in support of trying to see it [the deal – ed.] restart,” the US official said.

Türkiye is trying to convince Russia to return to the agreement, and Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to arrive in Russia soon to discuss the breakdown of the deal.
He stressed that NATO allies provide an unprecedented level of military support to Ukraine, but the key decisions are up to the Ukrainians.
“At the end of the day, it has to be the Ukrainians, their commanders on the battlefield that are making those difficult and tough decisions. What we have seen is that Ukrainians have exceeded expectations again and again. We need to trust them. The order refers to the VZ.77 DANA 152 mm self-propelled howitzer, the Zuzana-2 152 mm self-propelled howitzer, the TRF1 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, the M101 105 mm howitzer, the 120 mm mortar and the M/41D 82 mm mortar 2.

Zaluzhnyi noted that the focus of his conversation with his Danish counterpart was the ongoing training of Ukrainian pilots and engineers on the F-16s in Denmark.
“General Lentfer said that some of our pilots have already successfully completed the preparatory measures and can start flight training,” Zalyzhnyi added.
The parties also agreed to start working on logistics to ensure the maintenance and repair of the F-16s in Ukraine.
“I thanked the Danish people and the government for the decision to transfer 19 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine and their comprehensive support in the fight against the Russian aggressor,” Zaluzhnyi said.
BACKGROUND:

Ukrainians CONDUCT Largest Drone Strike on Russia From Range of 660 km
Ukraine has stepped up its drone warfare in recent months, often striking targets deep inside Russian territory to support its ground offensive, which has met stiff resistance on the southern and eastern fronts.
Tonight, as the Russian military and the Russian people were still reeling from the chaos and defeat caused by the heavy airstrikes on Russian cities and military airfields in recent days, Ukraine launched a much sharper airstrike on another critical Russian airbase 660km from the front line.
Explosions rocked Russian airspace after Ukraine launched an overnight drone strike on Vladimir Putin’s fleet of warplanes.
Thick clouds of smoke and fire were seen rising from Pskov airport in western Russia after the aggressive airstrike.
This was touted as the most aggressive attack by the Ukrainian air force so far.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian drones targeted six regions of Russia early Wednesday.
This attack appears to be the largest drone strike on Russian territory at this stage of the war, i.e. since Russia.
Russian officials said attacks by drones were reported in the Pskov, Bryansk, Kaluga, Orlov and Ryazan regions, as well as the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.
The most significant attack took place in Pskov, about 660 km (411 miles) north of the Ukrainian border, close to the Estonian and Latvian borders, where Russian officials said four Il-76 military transport aircraft were damaged.
The attack in Pskov caused a massive fire and damaged four Il-78 transport planes and a nearby oil depot, Russia’s state news agency Tass reported, citing emergency officials.
However, many published images show the Russian planes completely destroyed and unusable fireballs.
The base is believed to be the location of Russia’s most combat-ready airborne division close to NATO’s borders.
Other explosions and fires were also reported in the Tula and Bryansk regions.
Kremniy El near Bryansk, one of Russia’s largest micro-electricity factories, was allegedly hit.
This marks Kiev’s second bold night attack deep behind enemy lines in recent days.
Pskov Regional Governor Mikhail Vedernikov ordered the cancellation of all flights to and from Pskov airport on Wednesday, citing the need to assess the damage in daylight.
Images and footage posted on social media overnight showed smoke billowing over the city of Pskov and a massive fire.
Vedernikov said there were no casualties and the fire was under control.
Images posted by Pskov’s governor on the Telegram messaging app showed smoke rising from a large fire as sirens and explosions rang out.
Other reports on Telegram channels indicated that anti-aircraft systems were in operation around the city, located just 32 km (20 miles) east of the Estonian border.
Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said on Telegram: “According to initial assessments, nothing serious happened, but it is difficult to determine this at night.
If all goes well, the airport will resume normal operations on Thursday,” he wrote, adding that there were no injuries.
The Tass news agency quoted emergency services as saying that four Il-76 transport planes, long the workhorse of the Russian military, were damaged at the military airfield. Two of the planes “caught fire,” it added.
Russian military and defense officials said three Ukrainian drones were shot down in the southern Bryansk region, one in the central Orlov region and one in the Ryazan region south of Moscow.
Airspace around Moscow’s Vnukovo airport was briefly closed, Tass reported.
The Pskov region was previously targeted by drones in late May.
Last week’s drone strike in Russia’s Belgorod region killed three people, hours after a drone crashed into central Moscow, Russian officials said.
This comes just days after Russia’s flagship long-range Tu-22M3 heavy bomber was destroyed in a Ukrainian drone strike near the city of St Petersburg.
While Ukraine has not said it carried out a specific drone strike, President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously said that attacks on Russian territory are “inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process” as the war with Russia continues.
Today, with this aggressive airstrike, we can see that Ukrainian forces have finally pushed and exceeded their limits.
Ukrainian cities have long been under relentless Russian missile attacks. Although Ukraine’s air defenses have recently been much strengthened, some losses were inevitable.

Ukraine has broken the Surovikin line near Robotyne as Ukrainian forces now enter the town of Verbove, taking the line without a heavy fight. Russian forces have also been seen surrenduring in large numbers near the area. Russian aircraft were still seen burning at Pskov and Bryansk overnight.
