Students lose ‘luxury housing’ to migrants after Home Office forces them out

Students have been booted out of a “luxury” housing block after the Home Office agreed a deal to rent the development for migrants.

Under government plans, more than 400 asylum seekers will move into student accommodation in Huddersfield that features a cinema room and gym.

The deal means that more than 150 students who had already signed tenancy agreements have been forced to find alternative accommodation a week before the start of the academic year.

It is understood that the block has been empty over the summer, which means the students do not need to be evicted.

The development, HD1, only a short walk from the University of Huddersfield campus, was previously advertised as “luxury student accommodation”.

Rooms were available to rent for up to £200 a week, with facilities including a games room, pool table, cinema room, gym and a washing room.

The students had signed agreements with the U. for housing.
If the U. kicks them out the week before class starts, how is this not breach of contract?
I would sue the U. and the government entity it contracted with to house these migrants. Full restitution for any fees, tuition costs, moving expenses, books, with a hefty penalty for pain and suffering due to a lost semester's schooling - no way I'd attend the school now and it's too late to re-enroll elsewhere.
