I never believed the AI hype for a second

Lot of truth in that, but why have kids these days? For one thing, daddy might disappear or is it daddy’s income that’s the concern. For another, kids are huge expenses with less return than in the old days when the kids stayed around and helped.
Don’t have a family? No income? Lotta debt? Disease? Disability? Don’t worry, the Federal government will help. Just sit back.
No need to rely on family or community anymore.
Regarding AI, that’s just machines and machines can do more and more. It started with the wheel.

There remain many faux "management" jobs concerned with the juggling of lists and schedules and the optics of having a Person in Charge. Women are vastly overrepresented in these fake roles as a result of decades of pressure to meet diversity targets. AI could make many layers of bureaucracy go away - even the legendary "DMV Lady". It might undo decades of Leftist sabotage of our corporations and government offices - that's why they are worried.

No doubt. MASSIVELY sky-high taxes require two incomes and leave the kids to be raised by the state schools in many cases. Then the state owns the child.

No doubt they are major contributor, but I think the huge taxes required to create the Socialist Nanny State Cradle-to-Grave did a lot more damage. That damage pre-dated the offshoring of jobs by five or more decades.
But there is no doubt that BOTH are major contributors to our demise.

Between "Generative AI" models, and the multiple-orders-of-magnitude improvement Machine Learning (ML) chips are making every few years, the creative industries are going to take a hit.
Just off the top of my head:
I'm at a chip design conference (Hot Chips) this very second. The computational power of Machine Learning chips are increasing at a staggering rate.
The speedup of CPUs from generation to generation? Not much - 10-15%. The speedup of Machine Learning? 5-8X per generation.
I can’t imagine why that would be. After all, it is Artificial INTELLIGENCE, not Artificial Emotional Response.

Actually, scientists have said that AI has had trouble “thinking” like a women. There’s a mysterious kind of logic to the “feminine” that AI cannot replicate.

Software engineers can make an algorithm produce any results they want. They just need to be smarter than the algorithm.
Looks like they are not up to the task.
Most AI programs using the "Large Language Model" go insane after lengthy operations, just as predicted by science fiction writers decades ago. See some stories by Larry Niven on this point.
