The team also found evidence of that goats, sheep, and pigs had been sacrificed there, as well as grape plant remnants.

They are seriously jumping to conclusions. It could just as easily been slaughter of animals for meals eaten as a community. But I guess they believe it sound more interesting to say it was a cult scenario.
