They’re just lucky it’s not like the OLD days.
More than likely, this is a situation more akin to the “cellphone hack” that happened a few years ago, than it is for an inside job. Some really smart folks in Russia (I think it was), had bought a bunch of slots, and pulled the programs apart looking for weaknesses. They found one in this particular game. So, they wrote some software that ran on a phone that would vibrate or something to tell you when it was time to press the SPIN button. (The random number generator had a weakness that they were able to find, and they could then predict at what point you should press the button to get a favorable outcome). The only input they needed was the results of a few spins to tell them WHERE in the “field” the RNG was. From there, they could tell you when to spin. This is going to be something like that.

I know that. But what are the odds a machine “malfunctions” right when a player wins?
There’s news stories of how people won at Indian casinos only to be told this and the Casino weasels out of paying by paying for a meal or free night stay or something. And because it’s on reservations, there’s no legal recourse.
Which is why I play slots at the bars, and not the casino.
It is BS because I saw a pic of one of the winning machines and the bet was $2500! If they are betting this much one would expect them to win something. Casinos are much tighter now than they were before covid.
