Georgy Girl is a 1966 British romantic comedy-drama, starring Lynn Redgrave in the title role, with James Mason, Charlotte Rampling, and Alan Bates.
The plot follows the story of a virginal young woman in 1960s Swinging London who is faced with a dilemma when she is pursued by her father's older employer (Mason) and the young lover (Bates) of her pregnant flatmate (Rampling).

Always liked that song. We had it on a 45 when I was a kid.
I remember seeing it a long time ago. The character played by Charlotte Rampling is extremely unpleasant.
But at least the movie explains the song, which was very popular when I was in middle school.
I remember the song. Didn’t know about the show.
Their best was “I’ll Never Find Another You.”
Greatest combination of lyrics, love story, and music ever.
That’s too bad. Rampling was one of those many babes of the 60’s that were turning up in a ton of TV shows. She’s great as a pistolera in one of my favorite episodes of the Diana Rigg Era of The Avengers.
Another song I could live with never hearing ever again.
...an episode that also featured a young Donald Sutherland as the diabolical villain!
I might have to pick up a Seekers CD now.

There was something about Diana Rigg in that role that I really liked, but as about an 8 year old, I wasn’t sure what yet . . .
Thanks. Been a while since I listened to it. (Love those suits and ties.)
I sort of took The Seekers for granted but gained respect for them later.
Sad story of the lead singer Judith Durham.
In the late 1990s, Durham was stalked by a former president of a Judith Durham fan club, a woman who sent her dozens of doormats through the post. The woman was subsequently prosecuted and was later imprisoned for other serial crimes.
In 2000, Durham broke her hip and was unable to sing “The Carnival Is Over” at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with the Seekers. However, she sang it from a wheelchair at the 2000 Paralympics shortly thereafter.
In May 2013, during the Seekers’ Golden Jubilee tour, Durham suffered a stroke that diminished her ability to read and write—both visual language and musical scores. During her convalescence, she made progress to rebuild those skills. Her singing ability was not affected by the stroke.
Durham was born with asthma and at age four she caught measles, which left her with a life-long chronic lung disease, bronchiectasis. Durham died from the disease on 5 August 2022, at age 79. She was given a state memorial service by the state of Victoria. Durham is interred with her husband Ron Edgeworth at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale.

I’m surprised that Aussie blogger who’s always going on about old-time movie stars hasn’t posted something about her. Or maybe he has; I don’t keep very close track of those things.
Charlotte Rampling was a beautiful woman in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, and even beyond. She had very sensuous, hooded eyes. She was a stunner.
My childhood family saw two Drive-In movies with James Mason.
Both were in Black & White.
One was Georgy Girl, which we all enjoyed.
The other was seen a few years earlier, it was called Lolita.
My parents thought it was “too grown up” for the four of us, so we left and got some candied apples instead.

We’re in luck: at77, Charlotte is still with us!
