Always liked that song. We had it on a 45 when I was a kid.
I remember seeing it a long time ago. The character played by Charlotte Rampling is extremely unpleasant.
But at least the movie explains the song, which was very popular when I was in middle school.
Another song I could live with never hearing ever again.
My childhood family saw two Drive-In movies with James Mason.
Both were in Black & White.
One was Georgy Girl, which we all enjoyed.
The other was seen a few years earlier, it was called Lolita.
My parents thought it was “too grown up” for the four of us, so we left and got some candied apples instead.
I always liked James Mason, very talented. Saw the movie recently on my Roku.

And what is most amazing is that it was recorded in 2014, over 50 years after they made their debut in the music world and the wonderful Judith Durham never lost her beautiful voice. This song actually brings tears to my eyes.........
