I can understand falling off the board and hitting one’s head and drowning due to incapacitation. If not incapacitated I do not understand this drowning. He would have been in a few feet of the board. Even a non swimmer would have made it back to the board. Those that use paddle boards often fall off when a novice. They know the routine.

I suspect he was incapacitated when he fell off or something nefarious which I do not suspect. The best explanation is a cardiac event (the jab) or he hit his head on the board as he fell.
