Over 200 US legislators will gather in the Dáil chamber this afternoon, alongside Irish politicians, for a meeting of the Ireland-United States Parliamentary Friendship group.
Members of the US Senate and House of Representatives will be among those in attendance, as well as other legislators from across the United States.
It is expected that matters such as economic relations between Ireland and the US will be discussed, with Minister for Finance Michael McGrath also due to address the delegation.
Today’s visit has been organized to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
The United States’ ongoing support of the peace process will be a focus of the event.
Among those in attendance will be Congressman Brendan Boyle.
Altogether, four US senators and 12 Members of the US House of Representatives will be in the Dáil. …
