Once they convinced them, they gave them positive reinforcements and encouraged them to go further down the rabbit hole, telling them they would be happier if they transitioned. Ignoring th fact that there is a higher rate of suicide after transition than before.
Over 65% of girls that want to be boys are either on the spectrum for autism, have anxiety, OCD or other mental issues. You are right - these girls have a difficult time fitting in, but they also want to be recognized as being special.
The trans-cult (just like every other cult) gives them a GROUP to belong to, as well as being SPECIAL. Ten years ago it was mostly males wanting to be females, and it was rare. Now it is mostly girls wanting to be boys, and it is fairly common. And happens in clusters (social contagion/hysteria/cult).

When they first had surgery, they experienced a period of euphoria because they believed they were free to experience happy lives like the people they saw around them. It meant there was never anything wrong with them and they would never struggle like that again. The doctors who cooed encouragement going into the transition no longer took their phone calls after the surgery and complications set in, or after they had severe medical problems from the hormones.
