India made history on Wednesday after their Chandrayaan-3 mission landed safely on the moon’s south pole, cementing itself as the first nation to successfully touch down on the largely unexplored region of the lunar surface.
“All the people of the world, the people of every country and region: India’s successful moon mission is not just India’s alone,” said India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterating that “this success belongs to all of humanity.”
But even with Modi’s broad, pseudo-inspirational attribution, not everyone was excited to take credit for the scientific feat — namely, the conspiracy theorists of Reddit who were irked with the bigfoot-esque quality of the spacecraft’s camera.

“Brilliant” only to people like themselves.
“The “good footage” from the 1960’s was FILM, which had to be physically brought back from the moon.”
True, they were using a Hassleblad film camera for stills, but the smearing you see from moving bright subjects is video. The camera image sensor tubes of that era would get overloaded with bright lights and smear the light leaving ‘trails’. That doesn’t happen with film. The real trick is how they transmitted video from the moon in real time back then. I was such a believer, but have recently become a skeptic.
I am not going to debate you—all your questions can be answered by folks who know a lot more about it than I do.
A fair hearing is all that I am suggesting.
I “saw” the moon landing “live” on TV when I was a teenager.
I was fooled.
I am older and wiser now.
“I saw it when I was 9, over 50 years ago, so it must be true.” Lol!!! Wake TF up Campion.
You're being fooled by leftists who have a goal of tearing down traditional American culture. The moon landing was the pinnacle of white colonial innovation and achievement. It can't be allowed to stand.
The real trick is how they transmitted video from the moon in real time back then.
Not really a "trick", just analog video the same way they transmitted from orbit. Probably FM modulation for the video signal. Of course it was over microwave frequencies, so highly directional.
Apollo 11 used a "slow-scan TV" system, popular with ham radio operators back then, which is one reason the Apollo 11 video is not very good. The later missions I believe used a resolution and framerate comparable to broadcast TV.
[applause] Thank you! Yeah, anything to tear down the achievements of white males with crewcuts and pocket protectors.
Or CIA.

This link has nothing to do with ideology—it is about science, real science:

The mass media is a form of black magic. You believe what you see—and “we control everything you see and hear”.
As young people we are easier to brainwash and fall under their spell.
It can take many decades to break that spell.
Considering I have to deal with "IT guys" in India on a daily basis, I have a general idea and I also have a very good idea as to the quality (or lack thereof) of them as well.
It's a completely legit question based on that experience.
Amen brother!
that is one of the three deep space network dishes, and the one which received the apollo 11 images.
were you alive in 1969????
I was 14yr old and watched live, armstrong looked like a ghost coming down the ladder. because it was in black and white tv image.
i remember when that happened i was 14, and very disappointed not to see the moon walks live.
WOW!!! how did nasa do real time transmission of video, same way they had real time audio transmission??? the LM had a dish on the ascent stage too, plus the astro’s put up a dish on the moon.
Yes, I was alive in 1969 and Dad bought our first TV, a little B&W set, just so we could watch Niel and Buzz on the Moon.
And I reiterate: there’s a ton of ignorance and stupidity on this thread, including people linking to pseudoscientific websites they lack the wit to properly evaluate.
I apologize to you, i reread your post.
you are correct.
No worries. No offense taken.
