It never rains in Southern California, but it blows to live there.
Is this thread about the most annoying pop songs ever?
The 1970’s will surely win.
Oh I can think of quite a few more annoying ones.
Imagine 747s are still flying.
Really! Achey Breaky Heart must have devastated you.
Do you know the way to San Jose?
I had this song on a K-tel album!
All you CA parents, tell your kids to stay away from dry river beds. Having lived in the Arabian desert for 20 some years I have experienced rainfall in the desert. Drownings always occur among kids who do not know that dry river beds (excellent places for kid’s entertainment) do not remain dry after significant rainfall. Tell the kids to get the hell out of wadis and move to hill tops and high places. Where there are mountains, floods occur days later after rainfall because it takes time for the water to flow from mountains to the dry river beds. Where there are caves, tell the kids to vacate them forthwith. Y’all dads and moms, I am dead serious.
There were plenty of really good songs in the 1970s.
But you can see why the punks had to come along and shake things up. There was crap and it had to go.
Back then, I thought it was an okay song. It told a story. It was relateable. Nice for when you were in a teenage mood.
He also wrote a lot of songs with and for other people. His son, Albert Jr., is also in the recording business now.
