COVID Lockdowns coming for Michigan this spring. Believe it.
Enough money in the right places will take care of it.
It’s amazing to me how certain programs get clobbered with NCAA sanctions while others skate free. The North Carolina situation, for example, where they ran a sham African American studies program to pass football and basketball players, perhaps the most egregious violation in amateur sports—the NCAA did nothing. Corey Magette with Duke when he received the 75,000 worth of jewelry and other valuables—the NCAA did nothing. By contrast, Kentucky basketball got hit with a 3-year ban from the NCAA tournament back in the late 80s because a booster sent a player a $1,000 and, allegedly, somebody took the SAT for a recruit.
The NCAA is just the minor leagues for pro sports. Players can now be paid, there really isn’t any academic requirements. Recruitment will be based on who gets their players the best pro contracts.
JIm Harbaugh was heavily targeted by professors for his pro-life, Christian beliefs.
They don’t even need him for those easy teams
It will have no effect whatsoever
So another RINO/deep-state controlled politician is in charge of all college sports
The resembles China more each day.
At every level, it appears that a combination of insanity & tyranny rules in MI...
Had Harbaugh been a mouthy pro-abortion zealot, he’d be in no trouble at all. Since he spoke courageously on behalf of the unborn, they are out to destroy him.
Will the rest of the BIG 10 vote to kill the program? That’s what the PAC 10 did to the UW back in 1992. The NCAA and Washington agreed to minor suspensions for “lack of institutional control” and the rest of the PAC 10 voted to reduce scholarships to 40 per year, 2-year bowl ban. This was right after the UW won the national championship in 1991. Virtually killed the program.
College football teams are self-policing? That’ll really work.
