The rules of the war between Ukraine and Russia are changing.
Today, Ukrainian fighters have developed ingenious strategies and carried out tactical attacks to destroy the enemy’s strategic advantage and completely blind them. In the last 24 hours, Russian observation posts, watchtowers, strategic monitoring headquarters and electronic warfare systems have been destroyed in different regions of 5 key cities of the Front.
Let’s witness the attacks of Ukrainian fighters on all front lines, which blinded the Russian army with their ingenious strategy. Kiev carries out its offensive plans from two main front lines. The FIRST line is the critical area between Zaporizhia and Kherson, where the Ukrainian forces have been carrying out offensive actions for a long time. Here, as Ukrainian troops captured the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River, they formed an extensive offensive network from Zaporizhia to Kherson. The other [2nd] main offensive line of the Ukrainians is the settlements near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Apart from these two main front lines, the Ukrainian forces have launched a serious offensive action from the Kharkiv region and areas close to the Belarusian border, as the border lines with Belarus and Russia are currently active. The Ukrainians are distracting the Russian troops with their midnight operations on all these front lines these days. The main objective of Kiev in its plan for midnight offensive operations is to destroy Russian intelligence equipment, transmitters and surveillance complexes. These attacks, which blind the Russians at night, facilitate the advance of the Ukrainians on all these front lines. To this end, Ukrainian troops have made serious breakthroughs in the south-eastern front lines since the last few days.
In today’s newsletter, we will take a closer look at the midnight offensive operations of the Ukrainians, which greatly influenced the course of the war. Our first stop is Kherson direction, one of the most critical settlements on Ukraine’s southern front line. Ukrainian troops have heavily cornered the Russians here in Kherson, across the Dnipro River. Recently, the Ukrainian Border Guards destroyed the headquarters of the Russian electronic intelligence complex in the direction of Kherson using unmanned aerial vehicles. Also, fighters of the 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment of the Ukrainian army released footage showing the destruction of three military equipment of the Russian invaders, including a Zhitel interference station. Russian troops were in a serious situation in Kherson, especially when the Ukrainian defenders destroyed the R-330Zh Zhitel mixing station, a manned technical support vehicle and a tank. Currently, Ukrainian troops from the left bank of the Dnipro were attacking the Russians almost daily.
Now, the Russian troops, which have great problems in terms of intelligence, got into a deadlock in the direction of Dnipro-Kherson. From that moment on, the Ukrainian Armed Forces drastically changed the rules of war. Falling back in terms of intelligence resources, the Russians began to make serious deficits in the direction of Kherson. Ukrainian drones repeatedly discovered Russian military resources, deployment points and command centers in this region. Last midnight, we were faced with a situation that surprised the Russian troops again in the direction of Kherson. Ukrainian forces conducted an incredible midnight landing operation, this time against the islands in the Kherson region. Ukrainian forces first approached the Russian forces on the islands in Kherson by boats in silence at midnight and started heavy fire. Ukrainian sailors had turned off the engines of the boats before they approached the shore. Therefore, the Russians did not notice the landing raid tonight and came under heavy fire from the Ukrainian troops.
Russian troops also began to respond to the attack launched by the Ukrainians. At midnight on the islands in the Kherson region, the shells became the only factor illuminating the darkness. Of course, as we mentioned, the Russians also started artillery fire to respond to these attacks. But the comrades of the Ukrainian troops, who came to the Kherson Islands to carry out a landing operation at midnight, arrived in the region without too much trouble to save them from the island. This rescue team took their comrades in boats from the island in Kherson and fled from there. Ukrainian forces continued to fire cover even as they moved away from the island. Currently, about 200 Russian soldiers are allegedly destroyed by Ukrainian sailor and commando troops.

Yurii Bielousov, Chief of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Department for Combating Crimes Committed during Armed Conflicts, has said the investigation revealed that the primary force of the Russian attack on Chernihiv on 19 August primarily targeted people nearby Chernihiv Music and Drama Theatre.

Bielousov said the investigation is ongoing following two main lines of enquiry.
The first important step is to identify those who made the decision to launch the attack and those who executed it.
The identification of the Russian Federation Armed Forces commanders who ordered the strike and the specific military unit that fired the missile is underway.
All the circumstances surrounding the organisation of the gathering are also being studied.
The line of enquiry of the attack being adjusted by Russian agents on the territory of Ukraine is also under consideration.

- At about 11:30 on 19 August, the Russians struck the centre of the city of Chernihiv with a ballistic missile
- The Russian attack killed 7 people and injured 148.
- Russian forces launched a missile attack on the Chernihiv Music and Drama Theatre when a gathering of drone manufacturers and aerial reconnaissance training schools was being held there as part of the Liuti Ptashky (Angry Birds) demo day, although only the event’s participants knew the exact location.
- Kremlin-aligned Russian news agency RIA Novosti stated that the Russian invaders had targeted a “gathering of Ukraine’s Armed Forces military specialists in combat drones” in Chernihiv.

In response to a question on the possibility of territorial concessions for the sake of Ukraine’s membership in NATO, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was ready to exchange it for the Russian city of Belgorod.

According to Zelenskyy, it is difficult to criticize the Ukrainian counteroffensive when the country’s forces do not have appropriate weapons. According to him, Ukraine will not risk the lives of thousands of defenders in order to advance up to 5-8 kilometers with no powerful weapons.

BACKGROUND:
-During his visit to the Netherlands, President Volodymyr Zelensky ruled out the possibility of exchanging Ukrainian territories for anything in his comment on the likelihood of peace negotiations with the Russian Federation.
-On 15 August, Stian Jenssen, head of the NATO Secretary-General’s Office, suggested that Ukraine could potentially join the Alliance in exchange for its territory. However, he emphasized that such a decision should be made by Kyiv alone.
-Subsequently, Jenssen referred to his proposals to discuss Ukraine’s membership of the North Atlantic Alliance in exchange for territorial concessions to Russia as a “mistake”.
-NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, commenting on Jenssen’s statement, insisted that only Ukraine can decide when conditions for peace negotiations emerge, and Ukrainians are the only ones who can decide which decision is acceptable at the negotiating table.
Do you ever look at the Ukrainian casualty figures? You do realize most of those dying on both sides are just boys. I’m somewhat disinterested as I’m on the American side. I find your unbridled joy at reading the latest losses very unsettling. Why not pray for negotiations and peace?
These and similar moves strike me as a most peculiar pre-negotiation strategy for the inevitable settlement talks. Every attack of this sort will only make things more difficult for the Ukrainians when talks begin, much like each phase of the long-heralded counter-offensive has only worsened Ukraine’s prospects by needlessly sacrificing thousands more recruits and weakening her ability to mount a serious defense against any new offensive by the Russians to push deeper into her territory. It’s almost like some force is directing then towards national suicide.
