Yep. The leftists in the USA are fundamentalists/extremists, no different than say the Taliban or FLDS. They’ll believe what ever delusions they’re directed to believe, crave strict compliant to the orthodoxy and shun/attack anyone who deviates from it. The same psychopathology as hardcore religious extremists, it’s just a different wrapper.
These are very dangerous people. A significant % would perpetrate violence on the ‘others’ AKA us and the rest would stand by and let it happen.
Fortunately, many of these folks are weak, mentally and emotionally compromised and have no resilience; which is why they’re drawn into this leftist dynamic in the first place.

The covid deathcount in the US is so far showing only a very small uptick compared to Delta. That’s in the US.
Japan looks somewhat worse. The UK’s death curve is bizarre and likely informs us of nothing.
As for what one does in response to a virus. Depends on the virus. If a new variant is 80% lethal in the target high risk population (the elderly, all of whom have comorbidities so no point in adding that), it will not matter what the gov’t tells you to do. You had better be doing it all without being told to.
If a new variant is much less severe, the response question will be more difficult.
Excess deaths in the US right now are lower for 85+ than for 65-84. Quite surprising. They never went to zero. Deaths of all causes are slightly elevated above pre virus norms, but not for 85+ (the heaviest vaxed cohort). The new variant hasn’t really been around long enough for EDs to show.

Well, if 15 million ‘lone wolves’ react without coordination or communication, they’re going to have a real tough time ‘responding appropriately’. Especially those that are buried. It seems the major problem these ‘self-anointed elites’ have is hubris. And that will bite them really, really hard, I would expect. I’ve heard there are more deer licenses sold in Penn than the entire population of federal ‘muscle’.

I never got the vax and don’t intend to now. I will not wear a mask either unless someone calls the cops. That said I think most people will comply because they need to feed their families and cannot afford to lose their. I am retired not financially dependent on an employer or the government. I don’t blame people who throw in the towel and comply or the guy who decides to go out and shoot a random Democrat politician. I am not willing to do that myself, but I might well admire the person who did it. Is that a crime?

Yes I agree if there is little enforcement I would expect widespread resistance. However I expect enforcement is the entire point of the exercise since it definitely is not public health. The powers that be are looking to see who the trouble makers are.

My question is:
In areas where masks are made mandatory again, will there be a sizable number of people “advertising” what they think is really going on with their masks?
That is, in contrast to last time around when I was one of the only people wearing a mask that said “Plandemic” and other masks with similar slogans, will this not be such a rarity?
I think I did not get rid of the bargain basement t-shirt fabric masks I got a year or so ago and the iron on letters. I hope I can find them.
