I remember reading a few years ago that the resolution was approaching a limit due to tunneling effects that would cause cross-communication between lines. I think that declared limitation was 10 nm. What has circumvented that limitation to allow the new 2nm processes?

Also, do you know anything about the new massive Intel facility under construction just north of Columbus, Ohio?

I don't know the technical details of chip making.

I don't know anything about the facility and wouldn't comment even if I did. One of the last things I worked on was the design for a new satellite engineering facility to handle our orbital infrastructure. I had to advise the customer that there were things they shouldn't list in the design documents, that while individually unclassified, would give away too much about the intended capabilities of the site.

I have not had access to classified or privileged information for over 10 years and intend to keep it that way.

Thousands of innovations in the process. They are building more like skyscrapers (vertical) with 'separation' of powers.

You may have already seen this deep-dive article from 2021...

The Dutch firm ASML spent $9 billion and 17 years developing a way to keep making denser computer chips.
