‘I’m a showbiz prostitute who’s starred in over 600 movies – but you might not know who I am’
Metro UK ^ | 8-18-2023 | Alicia Adejobi

Eric Roberts is the most hardworking, famous actor in Hollywood who you might not have heard of… but you’ve definitely seen him.

That’s because he’s starred in approximately 667 movies and TV series – and has 77 upcoming (although that figure is sure to have changed by the time of publication).

You may know him as the older brother of Pretty Woman icon Julia Roberts and the dad of horror scream queen and rom-com darling Emma Roberts, but this is one accomplished actor who deserves to be known in his own right.

This year alone, Roberts, 67, has appeared in 40 projects – including 10 episodes of one show – and the golden rays of summer have not even faded.

I agree. If Eric Roberts is in it it’s fun to watch even if the movie is low budget or cheesy. He makes a great bad guy.

Andrew Dice Clay did a pretty good imitation of Eric

The Al Pacino impression was pretty funny too.

Too bad they cut off the Travolta impression it sounded like it was going to be good.

Someone needs to teach him how not to dress like that.

There’s a difference between starring in a movie and appearing in a movie. Eric Roberts is hardly a star.

‘Runaway train’ was nominated for Oscar’s including Roberts for best supporting actor... ‘Star 80’ was anther very good movie back in the day about Playboy Playmate Dorthey Stratton who was murdered by her husband, who in turn committed suicide.

A decent hardworking supporting actor.

I always buy my jeans at thrift stores. I pay $8 for jeans that cost up to 10 times as much regular retail.

Actors and musicians often have an odd taste in clothes. Many of them have stage fright and as a sort of compensation and means of self-expression, they become flamboyant in how they dress.

He was awful in “The Expendables.”

But so was everyone in that flick.

My wife likes thrift stores. It satisfies her urge to shop. She finds gems occasionally.

And he became Dorian Gray’s portrait in his later years.

He was gorgeous in the movie with Jane Fonda, Barefoot in the Park, but, WOW just a few years later he looks really BAD.

I personally think Eric was a better actor than his sister, especially when it came to playing dirtbags. Eric Roberts and Mickey Rourke as two dirtbag cousins in Pope of Greenwich Village was a classic in my book.

I get most of my cardigans from Goodwill. You have to dig for them but I have even found a couple with the price tags still on them.

I’d never shop at Goodwill. It’s not REALLY a charity. It’s a total revenue-generating organization and the head honcho is wealthy because of it. If he’s making tons of money from it, good for him; just don’t lie about it being a charity.

I find that local thrift shops are a good place to shop. When I lived on Maui, I’d buy my muumuus there. When the five star resorts would change out their uniforms, the old ones would go to the thrift shops. They’re top of the line, and some had never been worn.

Some of my most beautiful serving dishes are from thrift shops — usually $1. Some clothes, too, but since retiring in 2008 I don’t focus on clothing much any more. I’d love to find a nice fur coat or jacket somewhere, though, like you mention. When I left Alaska for Florida I sold mine and now I wish I had them again.

He was great as the super creepy Paul Snider in Star 80, husband of Playmate Dorothy Stratton, played by Mariel Hemingway.
