Years ago, I would have said that the moment something like this happens is the day the S*** hits the fan. But, then I witnessed the COVID lockdowns, and saw people everywhere wearing masks, keeping a social distance, and taking a vaccine that didn’t work. Then, I realized that the majority of people in this country will comply with just about anything the government tells them if they claim it is for their own good.

A wild ride, isn't it. All sorts of things that were dismissed as preposterous, never-gonna-happen as far back as a few years ago, heck even a matter of months ago, have happened, and continue to happen. Anything is on the table when it comes to a corrupt government bent on supremacy over its citizens almost to the exclusion of all else save how much theft they can get away with while doing it. That's where the danger to stability really lies. They're feckless at any facsimile of governance, have tampered with so much with their central planning & control schemes to where many sectors are dysfunctional and subject to collapse. It's past time to look to yourself & community to survive the oncoming chaos being thrust upon us.

I think it would require a basis of fear for most people to buy it, and a transmissable pathogen was just the ticket for that..not sure that people are scared enough of dying from warmer weather to cut the government that much slack...
