A female Connecticut police officer was ferociously attacked by a hammer-wielding man, police said.
The Middletown Police Department said that on Saturday, August 12 at 6:33 p.m., authorities received a complaint about noise and breaking glass on a residential street.
Detective Karli Travis, who runs the Middletown Police Cadet Program and serves in the patrol division, was the first officer who responded to the call.
She approached the resident on foot and police said that she immediately noticed that the suspect, 52-year-old Winston Tate, was wielding a blunt object.
In a press conference on Tuesday, August 15, Chief Eric McCallister of the Middletown Police Department said that Travis calmly asked Tate to drop the object, a metal hammer, to the ground.

I will confess that after a 25 year LEO career there are women who can do the job and do it well. Maybe 5% of the population but I got to work with some of the best.

I don’t think it’s so much the caliber in this case. Even a semi well placed round from a 9 can easily be fatal or at least debilitating. And were talking “Multiple rounds”? Look at the man standing in court in the pic. The suspect standing in court, he certainly does not look like he was just shot, “Multiple times”.
My guess in this case is the female cop allowed the armed suspect to get way too close to her, at which point she fired from a compromised position, after the suspect took the hammer to her, getting off a couple of desperate wild shots that barley grazed the suspect.
Must have violated the 21 foot rule. I hope she fully recovers, but sadly this again exposes the Hollywood lie of females beating the crap out of thugs. By the way, is the perp out on bail yet?

They are probably now trained not to shoot black people for any reason. Even if you believe your life is in danger.
9mm can definitely kill, even if they weigh 350 pounds.
The question is how long before they are incapacitated.
The reason why the FBI went away from the 9mm originally is because of the Miami Shootout, where one of the perps had non-survivable wounds, but in the meantime killed two FBI agents, and wounded several more.
I have been referring to this specific case not overall statistics regarding weapon calibers.
Again, with the suspect appearing in court looks completely unscathed, that clearly tells me these were not well placed shots. I think that’s pretty obvious in this case.

If the suspect was hit center mass with one round and or “multiple rounds” I’m really confident he would not be standing up in court in that pic. In fact, I’d bet good money on it.

No, I don’t believe the t-shirt wearing suspect was hit center mass, basically *point blank* with a 9mm. Not buying that.
If that were the case, I’m pretty sure he’d be dead on in a hospital. I’m pretty sure his chest is not made of steel or Kevlar. Did the 9 bounce off the center of his chest? Possible, but I would certainly doubt that to be the case.

The report was multiple gunshot wounds, and I’d say she got 4 hits out of 6 all of which look to be gun pointing at center mass
Four 9mm rounds, some allegedly point blank to center mass? And the suspect is standing on his on accord in court a couple days later? lol..
Not buying it, no sale. I’ll wait to see if they ever decide to reveal where the suspect was shot and what the extent of his injuries were.
Lack of swift incapacitation is the problem.
This officer got shot 4 times with 9mm, and ran back to his cruiser.
But I don’t think he was ready for a court appearance a few days later.

It’s believed the detective hit Tate multiple times, but he didn’t suffer serious injuries, according to the Daily Mail.
