Hillary Clinton said it was a 'terrible moment' for America Monday night as another indictment was issued against former President Donald Trump.
Trump's 2016 presidential rival was appearing on MSNBC alongside Rachel Maddow when news broke that the Fulton County district attorney's office had handed down another lengthy set of charges against Trump and some of his compatriots for some of their actions pertaining to the 2020 election.
Though the former Secretary of State appeared visibly giddy as news broke, she went on to say it was a moment of 'profound sadness that we have a former president who has been indicted for so many charges that went right to the heart of whether or not our democracy would survive.'
'He set out to defraud the United States of America and the citizens of our nation,' she said.
Clinton added she would 'wait to see what the indictments themselves say,' but 'I don't know that anybody should be satisfied. This is a terrible moment for our country to have a former president accused of these terribly important crimes.'
'The only satisfaction may be that the system is working,' she said.
Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, announced charges Monday night. The grand jury was investigating the efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state where Joe Biden narrowly beat Donald Trump.
Trump faces numerous felony counts including a RICO violation for his alleged role in overturning the election.
Clinton and Trump famously sparred in 2016, with Trump winning the election and serving four years in the White House.
Since Trump left the White House, he has faced numerous investigations. Now, he has been charged in four different criminal cases. Trump continues to run for the Republican nomination for the 2024 election.

Eff this sh*thole banana republic.
Trump let her off the hook. He also let everyone who let her off the hook off the hook.
The only person ever really punished for Hillary’s crimes has been Trump, and I don’t think Hillary will ever forgive him for that.
That was the custom until our banana republic went Full Commie.
Fine.
They can do that.
They'd just better stay the eff out of my face.
You are not far off the mark.
You are not far off the mark.
And now if you make the wrong comment about the wrong person, the “Law Enforcement” response will be to send a no knock federal swat team to your door, where you will be dirt napping due to the presence of a perceived weapon in your hand. And they will leave your body on the sidewalk for a couple of hours to intimidate the community. Yes they have achieved their socialist dream. Kyrgyzstan, exit stage right.
True dat.
good to know she will one day feel a heat that surpasses that of her global warming meme - and for eternity! just TOO delicious to contemplate.
That act of charity bought him nothing.
There is a huge lesson there for everyone.
i believe God saw and remembers.
“What difference does it make at this point in time?”
Yeah, never turn your back and trust a corrupt socialist
Quoth Hitlery Clinton: “We came, we say, he died!” Cackle, cackle.
She would, no doubt, express the same sentiment if Trump were to be assassinated by the same Deep State that offed Muammar Gaddafi.
Oops-should be “we saw”.
