[FLASHBACK] Fractured Republican Candidates Take Back Promise That They’ll Support the Presidential Nominee (RNC silly pledge)

The three remaining Republican candidates — Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich — are backing off their pledge that they'll support the nominee in November.

Back in September of last year — happier times for the Republican party — all of the GOP presidential candidates signed a loyalty pledge agreeing to support the party's eventual nominee. On Tuesday night, that pledge, which was already tattered, was shredded before a live television audience.

At a CNN town hall in Wisconsin on Tuesday night, the three remaining Republican candidates — Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich — all effectively indicated that they would rather jump off a bridge than have to support whoever wins the Republican nomination.

When CNN's Anderson Cooper asked Trump if he still pledges to support the Republican nominee — even if it isn't him — Trump was characteristically blunt. "No, I don't anymore," Trump said. "No, we'll see who it is."

"I have been treated very unfairly" by the Republican "establishment," he added.

Kasich and Cruz also walked back their loyalty pledges, albeit less enthusiastically than Trump.

"If the nominee is somebody that I think is really hurting the country and dividing the country, I can't stand behind them," Kasich told Cooper Tuesday.

Just a reminder of just how worthless this silly pledge is.

John Kasich DID NOT support the eventual Republican nominee.

Carly Fiornia DID NOT support the eventual Republican nominee.

George Pataki DID NOT support the eventual Republican nominee.

Jeb Bush DID NOT support the eventual Republican nominee.

Donald Trump, however, DID support the eventual Republican nominee (heheh, because he WAS the eventual nominee).

But joke aside, this is a demonstration of just how worthless these stupid pledges are.

Does ANYBODY believe that Will Hurd will vote for Trump next November?? Or Chris Cristie??

Why bother with the debates? Trump can win the debate by simply truthing the following in the middle of the debate:

It’s 100% clear who the VP front runner is after this debate!

Everyone will be speculating the next day, trying to figure out who was talking when the truth happened...and I’ll love it

“Yes, but it IS an attempt to get us to pull together.”

You are correct. That’s the supposed intent. But as we have seen it only goes one way.

Conservatives were told that we MUST rally around the Bishes, and John McCain and Mitt Romney. Just hold your nose and vote for the Republican they said.

But when the shoe was on the other foot, “Oh no! We can’t bring oursrlves to vote for the Republican. Oh no!! We’d rather the Democrat!”

So after watching all this for years, I don’t take their “unity” intents seriously.

Why not include the original date in the headline. That would help people to understand it’s not current news.

Otherwise, continue to post interesting comments and items, as you usually do.
