Where I live, it was common to see people wearing masks years before Covid; we have large immigrant populations, including many Asians.
We do see some Black people still wearing masks, but it’s rare now to see White Americans with them on.
That is exactly what I see. Older Asians, black women and the oddball Karen and Chad.
There was one woman wearing one today at the outdoor Farmer’s Market in Hayden, ID. Gorgeous day, mid 70s, clear blue sky.
I have to confess that I wore a mask for a little while early last week. But I did have a valid reason. I caught COVID (shown on home test) and went to the ER for a confirmation test. They wanted me to mask up, but I did it even before entering the building as a courtesy to others. The confirmation test came back positive, too. I had moderate to bad cold symptoms, muscle aches for about three days and zero energy for about a week. All better now.
