I think this is called “spontaneous redistribution of the wealth” nowadays. “Theft” is too harsh.

yeah...they sure have skyrocketed. i was buying russian king crab (the best) from wegmans...but that’s history now.

My brother worked for his step-father managing a restaurant in Tulsa back in the fifties. One night the step-father noticed several suspicious items in the dumpster. Upon investigation, he found multiple roasts, turkeys, hams, etc., all cooked and wrapped in aluminum foil.
From that day forward, only my brother, his step-father, and step-mother had keys to the back door and one was always present when the trash was placed in the dumpster.

All chaps are “assless,” as they’re just leg protectors that are attached to each other via a waistbelt.
I used to ride my motorcycle wearing them, and on hot days I would wear shorts underneath so I could be cool and comfy at my destination after I peeled them off (I would have a change of shoes as well).
It’s just that some people like to wear chaps without a proper pair of pants underneath, and that’s a problem (for civil society).
