Yes, they did this to the Youngkin campaign; a group of “white nationalists” showed up, all wearing the same khaki pants and white shirts and they included a black guy. Even the biased “press” could see through this nonsense.

Possibly she did change the race of the assailant, it’s a progressive thing to do. But that would not change the fact that she voted for progressive policies which insist that no one be held personally accountable for their own actions and is now enjoying the results of her votes.
