under 12 meters of water

What does that mean in English? My frame of reference is feet and inches. And engines in cubic inches.

A meter is a yard, plus 3 inches roughly. So 12 meters is a bit over 12 yards. Pretty deep.

A meter is 39.37 inches, slightly more than a yard.

Therefore, 12 meters would be:

1.2e+11 angstroms
1417.32 barley-corns
0.5965 chains
472.44 inches
6.65 fathoms
39.37 feet
0.0596 furlongs
118.11 hands
0.00216 leagues
0.006479 nautical miles
2.3860 rods
0.0074 statute miles
13.12 yards

FWIW - the speed of light is 1802617757855.1 Furlongs Per Fortnight
