Scientist admits the ‘overwhelming consensus’ on the climate change crisis is ‘manufactured’
We are told climate change is a crisis, and that there is an “overwhelming scientific consensus.”
“It’s a manufactured consensus,” climate scientist Judith Curry tells me.
She says scientists have an incentive to exaggerate risk to pursue “fame and fortune.”
She knows about that because she once spread alarm about climate change.
The media loved her when she published a study that seemed to show a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity.
“We found that the percent of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes had doubled,” says Curry.
“This was picked up by the media,” and then climate alarmists realized, “Oh, here is the way to do it. Tie extreme weather events to global warming!”
“So, this hysteria is your fault!” I tell her.
“Not really,” she smiles.
“They would have picked up on it anyways.”

Man made climate change is a big lie. I stupied it in war college and it is all propaganda.
I don’t think these liars want to destroy the economy as much as they want to control it as in redistribution of wealth. That’s why you see it in every developed country in the world. That’s why you see it the most in the wealthier countries like ours followed by the Euroweenies and so forth. Of course these crooks and liars that benefit from this are all over the map, from grants to the politico’s friends or anybody that benefits from this scam. And in the last few years we have even seen the fools that believe this, like that fool’s fool tool Greta. That’s why you see it early in schools and so forth, these scammers love it.
Two ways to get rid of it, chop the hell out of the federal budget and make Astronomy 101 mandatory.
It was manufactured by the Left, and then cemented in place with grant money.
You don’t toe the line and mouth support, you don’t get tenure, get grants for research, and you don’t advance.
So they toed the line and mouthed the words.

When you compare temperatures, your state may have 2000 current temperature stations but only 4 temperature stations 200 years ago.
So, they make up the data for the other 1996 temperature stations. And, depending upon how they fudge that made up data, you have warming or freezing.

The term "consensus" was first introduced to the Global Warming argument in 2013 by an Australian scientist named John Cook.
Cook (who by then already in the business of making money off mocking the Global Warming deniers) analyzed 11,944 scientific abstracts on Global Warming, from which he concluded that 97% of scientists agreed that man was the cause.
However, 66% of the papers he surveyed took NO POSITION AT ALL on the cause of Global Warming, and only 33 of the remaining 34% opined tht mankind was EVEN PARTLY responsible. And 33 is 97% of 34, so he conflated that as being a consensus of 97%. So in Watermelon math, 33% is the same as 97%
David Legates, a University of Delaware professor, looked at the same data set and concluded that “only 41 papers — 0.3 percent of all 11,944 abstracts" concluded that man was responsible for Global Warming.
