That would be the same Mendenhall Glacier that sits on an extinct forest...that it covered when it was advancing about 1,000 years ago.

I guess the earth was warmer then. Who knew?
Watched some show years ago and they were way up north somewhere and were splitting shale looking for fossils. Split one down a seam and revealed a palm frond. A big one too not just a small piece. Palm trees in Alaska. This earth is unbelievably old.
