I know EXACTLY how to put a microphone, a microcontroller, and short-range radio into a LED or CFL fixture, and you’d never know it was there. I bet Red Badger knows how to do it, too.

A couple of different ways.

One way is also applicable to the old incandescent bulbs as well as the LED bulbs. That is the the vibrations of music or conversation in the room on the surface of the bulb itself causes minute fluctuations in brightness of the bulb, so can be picked up by a laser beam. Same as with the window panes of a single glazed window.

The other way is a bit more complicated. The ‘D’ in ‘LED’ stands for ‘DIODE’, an electronic one-way valve, essentially.

Anyone who has had experience with the old ‘cat whisker’ Crystal Radio Sets of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, (I had one as a child in the 60’s) can tell you it is possible to receive radio signal audio using just a diode.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_detector

The LEDs are diodes that will fluctuate their conduction and therefor their RF signature according to vibrations thru the base and glass of the bulbs. A sensitive receiver can pick up these signals and detect their audio component.

Is it any wonder the Left wants the Incandescent Bulb destroyed?...............
