NY leaders must have their own march on Washington to demand Biden take action on the migrant crisis
NY Post ^ | 8/06/23 | Douglas Schoen, Andrew Stein

New York is facing an unimaginable crisis that harks back to the economic downturn of 1975, when the Daily News famously ran the headline “Ford to City: Drop Dead.”

Our city, which has worked tirelessly to recover from the lowest lows we endured during the COVID-19 pandemic, has become the epicenter of the country’s migrant crisis and a symbol of the Biden administration’s failures at the southern border.

More than 93,000 migrants have arrived in New York since spring 2022; many have been sleeping on the sidewalks in front of the makeshift shelter at the former Roosevelt Hotel and wandering neighborhoods in search of a bed or food.

New Yorkers are begging the federal government to step in.

Yet the $135 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency aid the Biden administration promised back in June has yet to arrive and still comes nowhere near the more than $4 billion Mayor Eric Adams estimates it will cost to address the crisis at hand.

It is absurdly inadequate to offer a “coordinator” to administer migrant affairs in New York, as the Biden administration has done.

Just as absurd is the Adams administration’s suggestion to turn one of our city’s principal assets and one of our most important tourist attractions - Central Park - into a giant tent city for migrants.

Nothing could do more to hasten the city’s decline.

It is time to consider new, bold and innovative ways to deal with the unspeakable conditions migrants here are facing.

Just to point this out....this $135-million that FEMA said they’d send...won’t last more than six weeks at the pace that NY City spends money locally.

It would make more sense to take the $135-million and those 17,000 FEMA unused trailers left over from that New Orleans hurricane 15 years ago, and just move the crowd out to some isolated spot in Nevada.

I thought NYC was a SANCTUARY CITY and NY was a SANCTUARY STATE. That must be the case ONLY if the ILLEGALS go somewhere else. Hey NY and you other self-declared SANCTUARIES, Enjoy The Suck because YOU asked for it!!!!!!

Gives you some perspective on what the border states deal with, no? Multiply this several times over - daily.

President Trump should promise that if elected all illegals in New York will be deported. No way Democrats could do that. Getting New York would sew up the election. In the mean time I’m enjoying watching the suffering of New York Democrats.

Upstate is mostly red.

We’re suffering, too.

Wanna know why?

NYS cost shares Medicaid with the counties.

And our already confiscatory property taxes are about to go nuclear.

BTW, Trump likely won NYS.

NYC has RCV for a reason.

Delusional leftists-

No mention of controlling the Border.
No mention of controlling immigration numbers.
No mention of forcible repatriation, a la “Operation Wetback”.

And they throw in the TDS Leftist “. . . but Trump . . .” phony caution. At least our PDJT, The GOAT, has an idea of controlling who, what, when, where and how folks could come into the US.

Southern border states have had all this for as long as Biden opened the border. Bikes stolen, cars taken, housed some in schools for a time..

They bused them north .. if they left them on Southern states.. NY would carry on as usual. If we worked together,.....

Texas to NYC: Boo-f’ing hoo!

And I was born in NYC - glad that I used all of my power and influence to get my parents to move out after a month, and that I later escaped from the (NY’er-infested) Hell-hole of NJ.

Those who backed open and unlimited immigration deserve the consequences of that choice - good and hard. F’em!

Not north. Democrat strongholds.

Once democrats started having to deal with the consequences of their own decisions and policies, then they started squealing like stuck pigs, hypocrites that they are.

It's time for THEM to live with the consequences of their policies instead of expecting us to while they are insulated in their little gated community enclaves.

Then they should go back where they came from where they have family, food, and shelter.

Just wait until winter hits. Then we'll see TSHTF
